Lehto's Pasties

"The service was great. First, stop to pick up a pasty after crossing the bridge. Where I normally go, they close at 2pm. Pasty not bad, I'm not use to slices of potatoes. But it was good. Plus I rec'd my ketchup."

"Delicious! We get pasties every year when we come to the U.P. This was our first Lehto's Pastie. We had the beef pasties for a picnic, one hour after purchase. The crust was perfect. Flaky, but not dry. The beef, potatoes, rutabaga were sliced thin, and each bite contained some of everything. We ordered gravy and ketchup, but neither were needed. So delicious. So flavorful. Addicting. We decided we will mail order them for our Christmas Eve dinner!"

"Some of the best Pasty's in the UP! We usually stop at the original on 2 but it's nice to have this location in town to swing in and grab a couple Pasty's while in St. Ignace. Plus u can sit out front and enjoy the view while ya eat this upper peninsula trademark food."

"Overall, Lehto's was a good experience. The woman who helped me was kind and friendly. The pasty isn't as good as what I had in Sault Ste Marie, but it was still satisfying. I think that both of the pasties and the gravy could've used more salt, but they were still good, especially after a long drive. The pumpkin chocolate chip cookie was excellent. I should've saved half for later, but it was so good that I ate the entire thing."

"My husband and I traveled up here specifically for pasties. Lehto’s didn’t disappoint! They’ve been making them since 1947 and have kept the recipe the same. This is their new location and we made it there with 5 minutes to spare before closing. The pasties are packed with beef, potato, rutabaga along with simple seasonings. The Pasties are light and flaky and non-greasy. The pasties from here are delicious and not all pastry dough as you can see from my picture. Definitely the place to go if you want an authentic quality pastie! Tried the chicken pastie and that is delicious too. I’m partial to the beef ones though as that’s what I remember as a kid coming up here. You can’t go wrong either way chicken or beef!"
