"I went to focal point based on a recommendation from a friend and they did not disappoint. Brian took time with me even though my project was very small. He gave me suggestions and explained differences between products. The quoting process was very straightforward and the pricing seemed more than fair. The end product exceeded my expectations. The installer was friendly and fixed any little blemishes that I pointed out. If you are trying to decide between Focal point and another company, go with Focal Point. When a company is as busy as they are, there is a good reason behind it."
"Best cabinet/counter place around. Van will assist you in designing your cabinet layout to best accommodate the space. Focal point has installed quite a few kitchens for house that I work on and for friends and family of mine. I have never had a negative experience. Next is my own kitchen! Thank you for all of your great work Van"
"Got our last corian countertop at Loews, which was fine but we were referred by our realtor and decided to go with the recommendation. We measured all counters and brought drawings with us to get an estimate. Our realtor offered to let the company in any time to do measurements, since we were still in the process of the purchase. After looking at our drawing, Brian (son of the owner, as we later found out) told us that the main counter is too complicated and that instead of coming in to measure, they'd rather just come and take it as a template, leaving us with the island to use in the meantime which had a small 15x15 bar sink. They gave us an estimate of $6,300 based on our measurements (done by an engineer). We agreed, picked a color, scheduled the two appointments (monday to tear out, friday to install). They ran a special for a "free" sink included with the corian counter purchase. they showed us poor copies of hard to define shapes to pick from, and we later followed up via email to choose a sink type for the main counter. Brian told us that they don't have any choices for the bar sink, and that it might be a little bigger. We paid half as the deposit. After we walked out, I realized he never asked us what edge details we wanted, so I went back in to ask. He showed me two types, a sharp corner and a very rounded one. My husband said he wanted to rounded edge and we left. The install crew was very nice, they removed our main counter as scheduled. however when I came home on the install day, I was shocked. the bar sink was the size of a janitor closet utility sink, wouldn't even fit in the cabinet and looked like it belonged in the basement laundry room. The dimension (18x18!) was actually bigger than the main counter sink! Brian was convincing me we need to redo all the plumbing, etc. I was in tears of how hideous it looked after spending so much money. At that point I realized that unlike Loews, which measured every detail, and put it ALL in writing, every edge style, cut, and measurement. We didn't have any details written on our contract. Just the price. Then after the initial shock, we noticed the the main sink was also different than what we picked, as well as the counter edge... Yes, $6,300... They refused to acknowledge their mistakes. They did replace the bar sink for a more suitable 15 inch. but would not give us any credit for the wrong main sink or edge finish. They claimed that we picked the other edge and as far as the sink, which we clearly had images of in the email exchange, we were told to not complain since it was free as the special!!! I was absolutely stunned, wanted to at least get some discount and they threatened to put a lien on the house. Our realtor called them to get them to make it right and they simply refused. What a horrible way to run a business. I will never deal with someone who is so incompetent that they can't even write down the basic measurements!!!"
"One of the best shopping experiences I've experienced in a long time and great prices on quality cabinetry. What we didn't know until we left was that the salesman helping us was actually the owner. He took us back to the workshop to look at remnants and cut us a couple of samples off that would work with our project. There was absolutely no pressure and when we were ready to make a decision to buy, he invited us instead to take time to think about it and even said that there may be something out there that we may prefer. Wow, who does that? Uncommon customer service. Needless to say, we look forward to becoming their customer--tomorrow!"
"Bought countertops. They broke off a piece of my dishwasher which they offered to replace the part. However, they came out twice to try and fix the lumps in the laminate of the bar countertop. To this day I STILL have a lump that they "couldn't find." Sloppy workmanship and over -priced. Very surprised they choose to do business this way. I got tired of trying to show them how to do their job right. Once they got our money, it was all done... regardless."
