"The most dilapidated golf course I've ever played. There are no signs on the holes, the fairways are a smattering of grass scattered throughout hardpan, and the rental equipment is ancient. It feels like you're playing an old, abandoned golf course, but the price is comparable to the other, much nicer courses in the area. I'd recommend you go to one of them instead."
"Really in bad shape. Not even hole signs on the T-Boxes. Desperately needs to be watered. For same price I can walk 18 holes at many other munis which also are in better shape."
"Love gateway hotel, really awesome place, but the course is a different story. I golfed all 9 holes and not once did I see a fairway, the entire course is all rough. The greens are dried and about the length of the fringe. Not to mention on some holes there isn’t a fringe it goes from green strait to rough. Non of the bunkers were raked. Course layout is probably the only thing good about it. They really need more staff and maintenance throughout the corse. Could be a really cool place to golf with the right help."
"The course was ok but needs some work. Owner/staff seemed were nice and clubhouse was just small. Layout is pretty good and unique to be right on WI and MI border. Greens were mostly in pretty shape which is what a lot of courses struggle with in these north woods; greens are a focus of mine. Fairways had some spots spots needing addressing and some sand traps cleaned up but looks like a work in progress. No signs on any tee box; all were removed. This is a pretty small town area. This could be a pretty good course to play with some things addressed."
"We have played at this golf course two years in a row and on both occasions the owner has been extremely rude. The course itself is in very poor condition, fairways all have giant dead patches of grass. Having said that, our expectations are not that high when it comes to a quality course, but if you're not going to maintain your course and charge 30 dollars for a nine hole you should be kind to your customers. Next year we will be looking to play golf elsewhere and I highly advise anybody reading this do the same."
