"Retailer (Basil) allowed my lottery tickets (reissues) to be stolen and refused to call the Eastpointe police. On Friday, July 14, at approximately 2:35 pm, i entered the store (A & B Liquor) and walked up to the counter. i didn't move from that spot the entire time i was in the store until i left. i handed Basil my winning tickets, 2 of which had remaining plays left on them. i always play my tickets for the next 60 drawings. He told me my winnings added up to $193 which i already knew. i only had one draw left on my Keno ticket, so i told him he could just give me $133 because i had a $60 lottery slip to play. He set my money down directly in front of me, and i handed him the Keno slip. He came back and set my Keno ticket down directly in front of me. i told Basil that 2 of the tickets i gave him had drawings left on them and asked for the reissue tickets. He said he gave them to me. i told him that he did not. i have a plastic sleeve that i've had for over 15 years where i keep my lottery tickets and lottery slips, and i had that sitting on the counter in front of me. i checked the sleeve and my purse, even though i knew he hadn't given me the tickets. After going back and forth a few more times with "i gave them to you" and "no you did not", he went to look at the footage from the security camera. He came back and said, "she took them." Basil had set my reissue tickets on the counter, further down, at another opening/window, and some random thief took them. She casually walked out of the store with my Keno ticket (which had 1 draw left on it but didn't win last night) and my Lotto 47 ticket which has draws remaining through August 12, and it was a DOUBLE PLAY ticket on top of that. i asked him repeatedly why he did that. i reminded him that i was standing in the same spot the entire time and that he brought my money to me and that he brought my Keno ticket (that i just played at his store) to me. He didn't have an answer. He kept asking me what i wanted him to do about it. i said, "call the police", but he didn't. Maybe if the police had come right away, he could have shown them the film and they might have apprehended her. Meanwhile, i had to contact the police myself and then go into the station to file a report. That was my first and only time going into that store, and you can be sure it will be my last. note: the sign on the store says A & B Liquor."
