Gene's Service

"Had some brake work done on my car here. It was easy to get an appointment and the work was promptly done for a fair price. Mechanic was courteous and good at communicating what work needed to be done."

"Battery died and left me stranded so I walked up the road to Gene's to grab a new one. I see a lot of reviews that say they had "great customer service" at Gene's, but for whatever reason, I had a vastly different experience. I walked in and stood there awkwardly waiting for the man behind the counter to acknowledge me as he seemed to be busy looking at papers on the counter. I waited for a solid bit and eventually spoke up because by this point I felt as though he somehow must not have noticed me. The man quickly cut me off saying something along the lines of "I'll get to you in a minute". Not wanting to waste my time for nothing I attempted to ask if they even carried batteries and was cut off again with a louder version of what he had said before. I understand having a bad day, but mine clearly wasn't going swell either. I obviously walked out and figured it out elsewhere. Again, maybe this was a very rare occurrence, and granted this was a year or two ago at this point, but I for one won't waste my time at Gene's again.. C'mon guy."

"I love Gene's and I will continue to be a loyal customer. I own a VW and some fixes (it's a VW so it needs lots of fixes ) cannot be done at Gene's, yet they have sent me to equally honest local businesses- such as Jeff's total car care- Thank you for your service!!"

"Gene’s service station on west Sherman. They put the service back into the word “service” station. I am sorry I did not stop in years ago. I just got a service on my 2019 car and full tank of gas for less than the dealer wants to charge for just an oil change. The service from the men is above and Beyond any where else in town, they even pump the gas for you along with cleaning the screens. Let’s support local. @Buyintheneighborhood Thanks Jeff and Gene."

"My son was told he had 3 things wrong with his car at Betten and they quoted $1800 to fix it. We took it to Genes for a 2nd opinion and found out only 2 things were wrong and the total fix was around $400. Another time I had JUST replaced my battery and Muskegon Brake told me it was just about dead, maybe 2 months later. I took it to Genes and they tested it and told me it was fine. No charge. And they were right, my battery has been going and going. Its worth the second opinion, and its definitely worth it to take your vehicle to genes. I have found them to be honest and fair, and they know what they're doing!"
