"Omg, if you're ever in Detroit, this is a must try. I never give prefect 5 star ratings, but the Firebird is amazing. The Philly cheese steak sandwich was the best one I've ever tasted. The bartender (Jeremiah) was great. He gave us great suggestions of things to do while we were in town. The prices were fair. Atmosphere was good and everything was clean. I will always come back whenever I'm in Detroit."
"Great food. Friendly staff. Cool place. Ate on the second floor and drank more on the first floor after. We went to watch the Lions game and had a great time. Very happy they put the game audio over the speakers. Ordered a pretzel (huge) and split a burger. The pretzel was great and the burger was above average. The only complaint was that a Guinness was served in a plastic cup, but I'm fully aware it may have been due to the high volume of people on a busy day. I'd definitely come back."
"grabbed a pretzel, corned beef hash sandwich and diner burger… i want to say, in all seriousness, this meal was better than the $500 meal i had at prime + proper the night before. phenomenal. great selection of beer as well. bartender (serena? it was with an “s” i’m sorry if that wasn’t the name you told us. that’s what i heard haha) was also a highlight. we got there when they opened and she was the only one on but handled it beautifully. excellent service and a fun person to talk to. we stayed for about 2 hours and ended with shots of tequila. when we took the shots we realized the cups had these cool crosses on the bottom. we ASKED the bartender if we could buy them. we offered $100. yes that’s a lot of money for two tiny cups but i don’t care, i loved them. being a person that has been in this industry for 17 years i have done this countless times. we didn’t just pocket them, we asked. a few new workers came in and it seems they were transitioning. the new bartender came up to take our glassware and we told her “no thanks” and we also told her we were trying to buy the glasses. she got very curt and mumbled about how she doesn’t think we can do that and ran off to talk to a few people. she came back and said “sorry they are the owners and they are very expensive” (they were behind the bar with everything else) we said that was totally fine and moved on. at this point we were ready to leave as we had been there 2 hours and needed to get going to the show and asked for the tab, i wanted to close out with our original bartender and also to apologize to her for asking for the glasses as it appeared as though this new bartender was very upset as she was cornering every person and talking about it and was very short and angry about it. i told the new bartender “i’d like to close out with the original bartender, please” and she said “i’m just trying to help her” to which i kindly replied “i understand, i just wanted to close out with her” in response she walked about 10 feet away and very loudly proclaimed to me “I WASN’T GOING TO STEAL HER MONEY OR ANYTHING”. what a vapid and unnecessary thing to say. first of all, i don’t take kindly to anyone talking out the side of their mouth to me and i’m certainly not going to deal with that from a person who showed up to work basically wearing pajamas. secondly, it is not bad form or rude to close out with the bartender who served you. never has been and never will be. Food 10/10 Original bartender 10/10 Kind manager who was helping and also gave us great service 10/10 thank you for an awesome experience here in Detroit, unfortunately your one immature, rude, combative & sloppy bartender will keep me from ever returning."
"Hosted an event upstairs. Everything went really well. The servers were friendly and helpful, the food was great, lots of space and a small 'stage' for a band. Had monitors we displayed a power point presentation from our laptop. The event managers were in top of everything we needed."
"I went here early in the day for lunch. This is a pub style bar & restaurant. Very traditional but a great atmosphere. I enjoyed my vegetarian dish. Was pleasantly surprised. The ravioli was homemade and the veggies were nice and fresh."
