Griffin Claw Brewing Company

"So, it's Friday, rush hour is starting, it's raining and I'm 45 minutes from home, minimum. Where's the nearest brewery? Today the answer is Griffin Claw in Birmingham. The staff is terrific. The hostess and my server both had a sense of humor. The beer and cider selection are big, 17 brews & 9 ciders. I will have return to sample every one. (Darn) They do cocktails, too. Check out the Naval strength gin at 115 proof. After I ordered a flight of RISs (I"m not explaining it. You know or you don't), I ordered the Nightmare on Eton Street burger. When a gauntlet is thrown down, I usually pick it up. They aren't lying about the heat. And it's messy. But I already want another & I'm only 1/2 way through this one. The fries are tasty but WAY too salty. They will suck up some of that 12% ABV beer, though. I would want to move in were it not so loud once the clientele numbers increased."

"Stopped into Griffin Claw Brewery for dinner on this beautiful night. The restaurant was hopping with lively guests and had a nice breeze blowing throughout the restaurant. It’s a bit difficult to hear in this restaurant because of the ambient noise and volume. We were a party of three seated at a round table for eight which made it a bit difficult to talk within our group. Other than the volume in the restaurant and the awkward table we were seated at, we had a great experience. The service was fast and server was friendly. Our food was delivered quickly, was appetising, hot and tasty with sufficient portions. I would definitely eat at this restaurant again! Bravo!"

"Nice atmosphere but more of a drinking place than a place to eat. I went health with a salad. Big mistake. The Brussels sprouts salad was not made for human consumption. Great patio. Perhaps a place for a burger and beer."

"Great place. My wife loved her fish and my prime rib sandwich was on of the best ever! Would have been 5 stars if I didn't have to flag my waitress down everytime I wanted a beer. We liked what we were drinking so much, we brought 16 cans back home to Muskegon! We will be back the next time we visit family in Birmingham."
