"My son is a big craft beer fan. One of the things we love doing together is traveling to the different breweries. He loves trying their beer. I love checking out the food (where available) and their decor/atmosphere. Today we decided to stop into your establishment around 2:30pm. Their was an older woman (probably my age 60ish) working behind the bar. As we approached the bar, she points her finger at my son and angrily says, "I know one thing. I'm checking your ID." Honestly. I wanted to leave right then. But I know my son was looking forward to going there. So I tried to lighten the mood and said, "You'll be surprised when you find out he's 37 years old." I know she was only doing her job by checking his ID. But it was the way she did it. He ordered a flight of beer. She gave him an ink pen and paper to fill out. The ink pen wasn't working well so she told him to use the clipboard to write on. It still didn't work. She then walked over, ripped the pen from his hand and tried it herself. It still did not work. So, she went and grabbed a different one for him to use. She reminded him, in her aggressive, angry voice, to use the clipboard. After which she picked it up and got him his beer. Even when she sat it down and explained the order of the beer. She was hateful. He ended up not drinking all of his beer. Because he just wanted to leave. When she came to take his payment (CC) she whipped that out of his hand and prominaded over to the register with it geld high in the air. When she returned I told her before we left.....had she ripped that ink pen out of my hand like that? That would have been it. I would have walked out. But not my son. He's a craft beer lover. Who really looked forward to trying your beer. And guess what? He loved it. But he, nor I, will ever step foot in your establishment again. And we'll be sure, as all unhappy customers do, to tell everyone about today. Btw.... I'm a former manager of a bar/restaurant. I've worked customer service all my adulthood. I've been in management 40 of those years. I would fire her without batting an eye. And lastly. I mentioned to her that I read online that people come in to play euchre. She quickly said, "Not on Mondays and Tuesday they don't." Hmmm..... think I figured out which nights this unhappy, angry, customer push away. Woman works. $12 too much spent there today. I gave 1 star because of the woman working."
"Quiet & intimate if you want it to be. Hopknocker is always a good choice, others can be hit or miss. Free popcorn and often pretzel rods too. Low key local joint that's not trying to be anything other than what it is. I don't go often, but always appreciate it when I do, after work for an hour or two with coworkers."
"A small brewery just off the beaten path! The beer is good and the beer tender knows his stuff. There is plenty of space and tables to meet. The brewery has special events. I am able to buy either 6packs or mix and match six packs. Did I forget to mention the beer is good."
"Stopped in here on a weekend during the day and were surprised there was not a crowd. The space is really nice and looks like a great place to hangout. The bartender was very welcoming and a pleasure to talk to. We got flights and tried 10 different beers total between the two if us. We like variety and would have preferred to get a variety six pack but this place only offers full six packs of one flavor so we did flights. A couple were good but we did not care for a couple of the IPAs. Sort of too much syrup flavor. It is three stars from us this time but we would be open to try again."
"First time here. Hidden brewery. Everyone seemed to know everyone, which to me was pretty cool. Tried most of the beers, the bartender said the popular ipa was the hopknocker. It was pretty good but really enjoyed the MI Hands Pale Ale and the Jack of Spades Indian Black Ale. The Kiss my Scottish was good too. Will definitely visit next time I am in town!"
