"We came to this establishment last night for a Double Date for Valentine’s Day. The Mansion is beautiful. We loved the architecture, everyone was super friendly. We weren’t sure where to park so we ended up doing valet for $10 which wasn’t bad at all. We were greeted right away. We were early so we were told to walk around or we could go to the bar area in the 3rd floor since that’s where we were going to be seated as well. I loved the atmosphere it was very dark and mysterious. We ordered a cocktail. I got The Witching Hour and my husband got the Eighteen Ninety-Four. They were both delicious. We were seated right at the time of our reservation which was 7:30. Our waitress was Maddie and she was wonderful. We decided on the 4-course meal. The sampler trio was okay. I ordered the garden ceasar salad and my husband ordered the lobster bisque. They were both very delicious. My favorite was definitely the bread. It had a crunchy cheesy taste that was amazing. I ordered the orange smashing salmon for my entree and my husband ordered the seafood saute. I had ordered mine without the cous cous since I’m not the biggest fan of it and asked for it to be replaced by mashed potatoes. When my ordered arrived though it came just as it was with the cous cous. I asked Maddie for the mashed potatoes and she grabbed it for me right away. The deserts were okay as well. My husband loved all his food and drinks. Overall, the food was good. I enjoyed it, but it was a little bland for my taste. The portions were small for the price but still worth it at the end. We were satisfied with our experience here yesterday. We enjoyed a tour of the mansion after dinner."
"Easily the best meal I have ever eaten! The entire experience was phenomenal. Our servers, both in the bar upstairs (a really cool experience in itself) and Regan in the restaurant, were both excellent! Even the manager made us feel welcome and made sure we had a great experience. The building itself is absolutely gorgeous."
"Iconic Olde Detroit landmark, a beautiful and historic mansion. Very friendly and attentive service. World-class cocktails. Food a bit on the bland side, but so it goes..."
"I have been to The Whitney several times. My sister actually was married in one of the private rooms. This was the first time at The Whitney as a vegan. I have never been to a restaurant that was so willing to accommodate my food restrictions especially when it's a set menu. I planned a tea party for 30 people and only 3 of us were vegan and the substitutions they made were great. This was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone. Atmosphere 10⭐ The service here is always amazing and so accommodating. They make each person feel special. This restaurant will always be one of the most coveted because they set a standard that many others can't compete with. If you visit Detroit, visit The Whitney and don't forget to have a drink upstairs at Ghost Bar."
