"Story time: From Kansas, Visited big rapids Michigan and been there for a few days. Suddenly felt flu symptoms, the woman I was talking to worked here and I kept telling her I wanted to be seen. She was telling me that if I didn’t intercourse with her in a room that she would deny me. So I had to drive all the way to Grand Rapids. She wouldn’t quit sending me unsolicited snaps of her naked in the rooms, restroom and testing stations of the hospital. So very unprofessional, very very very wrong to have someone working there that is like that. Very unsafe. Needless to say I am no longer gonna talk to her and will be reporting her The nurses name is: Brandie Hubble. Very unprofessional. Will be reporting the whole hospital"
"The 2 ladies at the front desk had no communication skills unless it had to do with gossiping about how their schedules are wrong and they need go get them changed and about how she’s not working any overtime in the summer because she’s taking that time off, or about how Brooke is still on the schedule and they can’t share her job on Facebook or tell others because it still isn’t posted on indeed. We went and we checked in and we’re asked if we’d like to do the telehealth (whatever they call it there) option and we said that we would, so we get all checked in and are waiting for our turn to be called back because we had some people in front of us. Two hours pass by, so we start to wonder when we’ll be seen. A girl waiting (who was there before us), got up and asked when she’d be seen because people who came in a hour after her had been back already and the ladies at the front desk said “you’ll be next.” Someone who got there an hour after we did walked up to the desk and asked how many people were ahead of her and the ladies at the desk said “8 in person and 3 telehealth.” Moments later the same person goes up to ask if she can be switched from in person to a telehealth and one of the ladies said that she’d check with the provider. The provider was fine with it and the patient is told “you’ll be next.” I walk up to the desk because “3 people for telehealth” later and we’re still sitting there. I ask when we’re going to be seen if she’s next and came in well after us. The lady says “well you’re here for in person so there’s 8 ahead of you” and I said “no, we are here for telehealth” and she said “I don’t know who switched it” and asked the other receptionist and she said “oh, she switched it in the back” - she switched our appointment AND DIDN’T COMMUNICATE THAT SHE DID and then goes on to say “you’ll be next.” (Why give it as an option if you’re just going to change it and not tell the patient anyway?) And guess what 3 people after me when up to ask when they’d be seen and they were all “next” too. And after that, they went right back to gossiping about the schedule and just sitting at the desk telling people they were “next.” We waited 3 hours and we will NEVER waste my time here again. When we were finally seen, Ashley and Alexandra did an amazing job. But due to the unprofessional receptionists and the constant lying of being next, we will gladly drive to Grand Rapids or Cadillac. I wish I could give negative stars because I won’t recommend this place to anyone."
"My wife and I went in to the Emergency Room on Friday November 24th and Saturday November 25th with her chief complaint being CONSTANT and CONSISTENT SEVERE abdominal pain. For context she is 20 weeks pregnant at the time of this post. Friday she is seen at roughly 9:30-10pm. They take her back work her up and she tells them her symptoms. They push fluids and do blood work and a urine test but that is it. They ask if she had been vomiting and eating a drinking or not, she had not be able to eat or drink due to the severity of the pain and threw up one time. With that information the PA says something to the effect of the pain is due to cramping from her puking and is possibly dehydrated and discharge her after 5 hours. The only treatment she was rendered was morphine and zolfran of which did not help at all. She is sent home STILL IN SEVERE PAIN. We go home and the following morning Saturday she and I make the decision to go back as the pain is not better and is getting worse. We go in and the OBGYN 24hr line recommended she be seen at labor and delivery, they take us in and put us back in the ED not Labor and delivery. This time they do the same pain management but they do an MRI and Ultrasound. They don’t find anything on there and this time we were there for 7-8 hours! They chalk it up to be “round ligament pain” they once again send her home in excruciating pain with no medication. Fast forward to Sunday, while on the road for vacation to North Carolina she is still in extreme pain thinking it’s growing pain from being pregnant she begins to rapidly decline. We end up pulling over and calling an ambulance to be transported to hospital 3 and a half hours from our destination where we are CURRENTLY admitted to. The amazing individuals in the Emergency OB department at Forsyth Medical Facility immediately begin to do the same work up process except they do a CT scan, nothing is seen but they aren’t willing to let her leave in pain. They decide surgery is the next option. We go through with it. Come to find out she had a ruptured appendix and had to have an emergency appendectomy at 20 weeks pregnant. Luckily everything worked out for the best, baby is okay and so is my wife and she is currently recovering well. Words cannot begin to describe my anger and broken trust in the spectrum health Big Rapids hospital. I grew up here and always had the highest regard for this facility and it’s staff but they let us down hard this time. Things could’ve have been so much worse and thankfully they weren’t. Negligence and Malpractice are only two words that come to mind to describe this situation. Spectrum/Corewell health has severely let us down, and with talking to other members of the community has let down others that they have taken the responsibility to treat as well. It makes me sick to think of how this could have turned out had we not caught this when we did. It makes me even more sick to think this all could have been avoided. There aren’t many excuses they could make to justify the awful handling and terrible care my wife and unborn child received from them. Honestly I’m in disbelief. Something needs to change."
"Wow. 5am I bring my daughter in and we are immediately roomed, saw the doctor within 15 minutes and the compassion the staff showed my girl when she was scared and sick was just wonderful. The gentle bedside manner made her feel safe and to quote her "they not scary and help me momma!" She then proceeded to hug her doctor."
"I used your facility for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the caring and happy staff come with the quality of care and how well the PAC assess the situation and clearly gave me a care plan that fit my need. I anticipated there'd be a wait and there was, so that was not an issue for me. But I heard many disgruntled people in the waiting room. I have never understood why they call this an urgent care as opposed to a same day care facility, the word urgent is setting people up for a different experience. This community has needed this facility for a long time, and I appreciate the fact that it's there. My only suggestions would be to figure out how to call it something other than urgent and to enlarge the waiting room. It appears in the planning they forgot that every patient brings another human with them and it gets pretty crowded pretty quick."
