"I was connected with Monica through Betterhelp. It’s my first time working with a therapist and I am so glad I was connected with her. Monica is very compassionate, caring and understanding. She will go out of her way to check on your well-being and provide you with tools on the healing journey and learning to love yourself."
"I was matched with Monica through Better Help. And I could not have asked for a better match. She's super supportive and always points you in the right direction. I look forward to working with her in the future!"
"I got connected with Monica through betterhelp, and I could not have asked for a better match. She's always kind and compassionate with whatever I bring to our sessions, and will always point me in the right direction for what is best for me. I have loved working with her so far and look forward to working with her in the future"
"I am very confused and upset by my experience with Monica. I worked with her for nearly 2 months through betterhelp. She was the first therapist I have ever worked with, so I was a bit reserved at first; however, after 2 months of weekly phonecalls with her I was feeling more comfortable opening up. She had some helpful advice about relationship issues and shared some self-soothing techniques that I use nearly every day. Then, one day she answered the phone and her voice sounded different. Instead of her normal soft tone, she sounded clipped and impatient. I began to tell her about my week and she cut me off to offer advice. I admitted that she had a good point and we continued. Through the rest of the conversation I felt we were going round in circles on a particular topic and I grew more and more frustrated and confused, because I'd never had trouble feeling heard by her before. The session ended abruptly and after we hung up I cried for a while. Even though the session had been frustrating I resolved to try to work through the difficulty in our next session. At the beginning of next week's session I tentatively brought up the last week's session, voicing my confusion over how it had unfolded. I was careful not to point fingers- only express that I "did not understand what happened" and that I wondered if we made the best therapudic team. Monica immediately got defensive- saying that she had done her best, but I had rejected every piece of advice she offered, and that clearly our trust had been broken and we could no longer work together. This was not my perspective on the conversation at all! I had only wanted to voice my concerns so we could work through this misscommunication and continue to work together. I was taken aback by her tone and tried to explain that I respected her advice and did not doubt her. She cut me off and said that "it is very easy to change councilors" and that I should go ahead and do that. The conversation lasted no longer than 4 minutes. I hung up the phone and sat in stunned silence. I know Monica has been in this profession for many years and has helped many people, but I wanted to offer this experience for other potential clients. She may be the perfect match for you! She has a very calm demeanor (on most days) and a lot of great advice as far as natigating conflict in your relationships. But I think getting defensive and being unwilling to listen to a client's concerns is a red flag. If she ever makes you feel like she's good at her job but you're a bad patient. it's time to try another councilor."
"I saw Monica for a good while when I was having an awful time. She was very supportive and went out of her way to be accomodating to my crazy schedule at the time. She's professional, yet very comfortable to work with. And she always got back with me quickly when I was in need. Don't know what I'd have done without her... other therapists I'd tried had not been the best fit. Very empathic & understanding! But don't expect her to just chit chat like a 'pal' -- she's there for your treatment."
