"Dr. Cowan is a Remarkable Doctor. I'm so grateful for his time. I'm very comfortable talking about anything. Office staff are so considerate and don't treat you like another file."
"EDIT 9/21/2023 - The office and insurance staff here continue to be substandard. Today, a month after stopping care, I received a >$700 bill with the justification that I did not have insurance coverage at the time. I did - the insurance company told me that the claims hadn't been submitted to them. The insurance representative tried to call the Life Skills Village office twice but there was no answer. This insurance issue was discussed on the phone weeks ago as detailed in my original review. Please don't seek care here if you can help it, and if you can't, be vigilant about their billing and insurance processes. Original, unedited review is shown below: When I first tried to access care here, I set up an appointment about a month out. I show up on the appointment date and I'm informed that it has been cancelled because they reached out by phone to gather information and did not get a response. I have anxiety around answering the phone, so I asked that they reach out to me via email only in the future and make a note in my chart about this communication need. I set up another appointment a few weeks out. After a few sessions, the therapist tells me that "some of your issues are valid" and gets upset at me for incorrectly labeling traumatic experiences. I determine that they aren't a good fit and decide to not seek further care. The next day, I'm expecting a phone interview (one of the few cases where i work through discomfort to pick up) and pick up the phone. It's Life Skills Village with an insurance issue. They sound upset and say they've called a bunch regarding this insurance issue. Upon clarification, they're referencing the calls they made trying to reach me when I first accessed care. I remind them of my communication needs and the fact that that need should be in my chart. I request a formal complaint form, but ultimately decide it isn't worth my time to use it since I no longer am getting care there. Note this point of the review for later. I ask my partner to call the office to cancel future appointments. They do not cancel my appointments. I reach out to the office to cancel my appointments. While writing this review (at the point noted above), I am called by the therapist. I hope the saga ends at this point, but I'm not holding my breath."
"What a wonderful staff! I took my son here for their social butterflies program. The room is very toddler friendly and has lots of activities for the kids to engage in. All of the specialists work so nicely with the kids to help foster their language development. My son really enjoys this program and never wants to leave when the time is up! I recommend the social butterflies program for any little one who needs some extra support in speech and language."
"My daughter started attending the social butterfly class in the winter as a way to get out of the house. It’s absolutely her favorite part of every week and it’s really a nice break for me too. The staff knows her well, follows her lead and encourages interactive play. They always have a fun new sensory bin, craft and somewhere to climb and play. It’s a great program run by thoughtful and engaged professionals."
"Wonderful group of people to work with. We can't say enough about the expertise and level of professionalism at all levels. It was our pleasure to build Life Skills Village their very own custom designed Fun Factory Sensory Gym. We look forward to working with you again in the future!"
