"I cannot say enough positive things about Shirley! I have been going to her for over 10 years, and she has helped and supported me through all manner of personal and marital challenges. I have also attended several of her groups. She is the best counselor I have ever had. Her wisdom, insight, genuine care, and godly mentorship have blessed me richly. Due to her guidance and direction, I have been both inspired to change where needed, as well as encouraged to move at the best pace for my situation. I can see God's grace shining out of her heart and life, and every word. God works through her to reverse the curse in people's lives, untangling the mess and making beauty out of brokenness!"

"Shirley is fantastic. She is my counselor and I attend a support group. She's compassionate, empathetic, and wise. She is thoroughly knowledgeable, having extensive education and training, but more importantly, she has lived it and come out stronger. She is passionate about helping others. I wouldn't be where I am today without her help. Regarding the other review complaining about the charge, that's normal for support groups. Every support group I've ever been a part of has participants sign a contract stating they'll pay for every meeting regardless of attendance. It's how support groups work. Shirley's support groups are worth every penny."

"I signed a form saying to ensure that I give 24 hours notice anytime I have to cancel a session, which, being a young single mom, I SURELY made note of. I missed 1 time and gave over 24 hours notice. I called and left a voicemail stating I wouldn't be in. Past that I made each and every session. After my group was done I received letters in the mail stating I owed my group fee. What? Why? I inquired about this and was told the fine print also says that I am required to pay the fees for all 12 weeks regardless if I make them all or not. Um I am sorry, that's super deceptive. Yes, it is on me that I didn't read all the fine print and took the "give 24 hours notice" as truth to avoid fees AND I understand this is a business. This still is a highly wrong method of how things should be handled and I feel quite deceived and like it's simply about the money...money of which I already paid very little of compared to higher incomed people. I looked for help and ended up with a bad taste in my mouth. This is not like other counselors i have used, so don't use this as a way to judge all. I also asked to be invoiced online (I work full time, I'm a mom, I don't want to go back in that building and I do not need to pay return shipping for this!!) as Shirley uses an application for payments. I never heard back and only got a "late payment" notice in the mail. Overall, I am pretty disappointed that I have to be the person leaving this cruddy review, but sometimes it's the only thing that we'll adjust business ethics."
