The progress both dogs have made with basic obedience, leash manners & door manners is outstanding. He’s taught me how to be more assertive with the dogs, which allows for me to be a better dog owner. I’m looking forward to learning more as we move into the at-home follow up visits."

"I believe I already had left a review, but I feel inclined to leave another one after we completed a few follow up visits! I cannot put into words how much appreciation and respect we have for this facility and their amazing team members! Our dog Oscar did a four week board and train for his reactivity issues, and we have since completed four follow up visits and I’m blown away. Nate (and ALL the west Michigan K9 staff) is so phenomenal to work with! He has created such a positive bond with Oscar. Before this, Oscar didn’t have a relationship with anyone except myself and my finance due to his trust and aggression issues. Seeing Oscar wag his tail and give kisses every time he sees Nate is a testimony in itself. They worked on building not only Oscars confidence, but our confidence as Oscar’s handlers/owners. We were able to take our dog into a public space yesterday and walk by total strangers (which was absolutely out of the question before this)! This training experience is completely changing our lives. I don’t worry that we will live isolated from the rest of the world anymore out of fear of Oscar hurting someone or himself, and that is absolutely priceless. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to express enough gratitude and appreciation to Nate and all of the wonderful trainers at West Michigan K9 for this. And I know we still have a ways to go with Oscar’s training, but the life time support that this facility offers gives me the peace of mind that we will continue making big strides with his behavior and our quality of life. "We left our "problem child" with WMK9 for a 4 week stay and train. The changes in our dog when we picked her up were so incredible... her attitude and manners were night and day better. Our stay and train was back in June, so we are a couple months removed from the program and the improvements and growth we are still seeing from our pup continue to amaze us. Nate has been so absolutely amazing from start to finish. We have done 3 follow-up sessions with him so far since the stay and train, and love working with him. He answers all our questions, no matter how dumb or repetitive they may be, and makes things fun and easy to understand. You can really see his passion and love for working with dogs, and his excitement when hearing our successes just about matches ours. My favorite part of the whole program is the fact that Nate has taught us and made sure we understand how to properly communicate and work with our pup in the most beneficial way for all of us. They do not make your dog into the perfect dog, but they do give you the best foundation to work with and ALL the keys and knowledge you need to give your dog the best life you can, no matter what your training goals may be. Everyone at WMK9 that we have met or spoken to has been so friendly, helpful, and amazing. I highly recommend West Michigan K9 for all of your dog training needs!"

"I can't say enough good things about the facility and trainers at West Michigan K9. We did an initial intake with Dawson and the way he approached our Bella let me know immediately that we had found the right place. He took the time to evaluate Bella and decided on a four week stay and train. When boarding day came Niklaus sat with us and Bella instantly calmed down more than she ever does with new people or in new places. It was a long four weeks but getting the updates and videos every few days and seeing her progress helped pass the time. When pick up day came we did our training session with Nate. This is what differentiates this training group from other trainings we have participated in. This training wasn't for Bella, it was for her humans. We were taught her positive and negative markers, how to safely and effectively use the tools they had used at their training and things like watching her while walking so we know when to make a correction. We also met a few other trainers and loved hearing how much they enjoyed spending time with our girl. We just completed our first of four in-home training sessions with Nate and watching her remember him and her tail going crazy was awesome to see. Bringing the training home and teaching us how to use our tools and stay consistent in the environment she is most likely to be territorial of is priceless. I look forward to our follow-up sessions and know that any dog I have will spend at least some time training with West Michigan K9. Bella is 8 years old and was a rescue that had a very very rough start to life. I am thankful we found a tribe of people to help us help her live her best left! My only regret is that we didn't find them sooner."

"If you’re having ANY issues with your dogs, I HIGHLY recommend these guys!!! I sent my dog for the 4 week stay and train and the difference is amazing!!! His manners have improved greatly as well as his responsiveness and confidence. When they say “service dog look without the service vest” they mean it!! I get SO MANY compliments every time I take him out in public about how well mannered he is! I’ve worked mostly with Nick and I highly enjoy the level of communication and understanding he and the other trainers have. He’s helped me (and is continuing to) figure out how to solve problems in home and out of home. I am so appreciative of the time and the continuing support I have with the 4-week program. I can’t say enough good things about this team. Highly recommend! They are always top of mind for me when someone is looking for a training program."
