"Mixed feelings about hotel. First of all check in process was good. They had the exact room type I reserved. The pool was good but hot tub jets didn't work. We called to see if they could fix it and they got them working for a little bit but they quit working shortly after again. Our room was clean and beds were comfortable. The evening social hour was nice. Very good drinks. The breakfast was horrible. I'm very familiar with hotel free breakfast and other drurys are usually great. The eggs were very runny and soggy. The biscuits were hard as Rock. The sausage had a very funky taste as well... probably wasn't real sausage. The most disturbing thing was on the day of checkout I'm sitting in my bed relaxing in my an hour and half before I had to checkout and the housekeeping manager lady came barging into my room without even knocking. I was only wearing my T-shirt and underwear and quickly had to get dressed. She then says, oh someone still has stuff in here and walks back out of the room. I then go out of the room and asked her what was going on. She then laughed and said oops most people are out by now I'm just checking all the departures. I said last I checked I still have an hour and half and she said yup no problem. I said well don't you normally knock before barging in and she said it's normally fine as most leave by now... This really upset me and if that's how a manger is leading and training her team I prefer never to come back. This is probably what tipped my experience to more of the negative side of things. I'll stay elsewhere next time."
"I loved everything about staying here. The bed was nice and firm. The room was larger than most of the places that I stayed at. The indoor pool is always a nice option. I enjoyed the free breakfast lots to choose from. But the highlight of my trip was their sidekick snack that is included in the evening. Lots to choose from there, I enjoyed the Mac and Cheese, some coleslaw and a bun. There is even a little store in this place to get crunchies and sodas. The staff tries to make your stay enjoyable. I was tucked away on the 3rd floor and did not hear the visiting hockey team players that were staying there."
"It was one of the best affordable hotels we ever stayed in the greater Detroit. Breakfast is included, with waffles, eggs, sausage, buttermilk biscuits, yogurt, coffee, tea, juices, and a good selection of breads. They also offer an afternoon snack with 3 alcoholic drinks included each day of your stay. They had mac n cheese, pulled pork, salad, eggs, pop was included and unlimited all day long, until 10pm. The pool could be a bit warmer, but it was doable. The hot tub was great! It got extremely packed on the weekend, though."
"Our first time staying at a Drury Inn. Angela checked us in. I can honestly say that if I owned a company, she would be in charge of public relations. Fantastic personality, friendly with a big smile. The hotel is a bit dated, but she still holds her own. The evening kickback and the morning breakfast were awesome . The food was fresh and hot. We had a king suite. It was clean and comfortable with plenty of room Every staff member that we had contact with was very friendly. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay where the staff is friendly and professional and the prices are very reasonable. I recommend the Drury."
"In all honesty, I've never had a better hotel experience in my life. From the staff at check-in - who had several others to assist before me but never stopped being friendly and helpful to all including the frazzled woman whose reservation appeared to have been lost somehow - to the staff just walking by through the lobby, every interaction was very pleasant. At check-in they were efficient and friendly while still informing me of all the amenities and the times they were available. We got adjoining rooms without even asking. The free "light" dinner & cocktails was particularly nice after the day I had leading up to being here. And the boys really enjoyed the pool. The TV channel selection is so much greater than most. The most comfortable bed, short of my own, I've ever been in. And the pillows were perfect (hard not to steal them but I managed to resist). Breakfast (also included) in the morning is substantial: scrambled eggs, home fries, sausages, biscuits & gravy, several types of cereal, waffles, several juices & milk. I only wish the plates/bowls weren't styrofoam and the utensils weren't plastic. Not very environmentally friendly there. Check-out was a breeze. And one other complaint, which every hotel gets: The shower heads are too low!!! Average height of males is about 6 feet (I'm 6'5") but if you want to wash your hair in a hotel, you have to limbo or you're not getting wet above to shoulders."
