"Choice hotels have been my brand of choice for over 30 years. They must keep up with their properties to remain competitive and appealing. Very good location! Great freeway access. Near medical center, Costco, Meijer, Aldi, and other shopping. Plenty restaurants and stores nearby. The hotel needs better/ brighter/ and visible signage, it's in a desolate area behind a very busy street. The sign where the entrance to the street, is covered by over hanging bushes/ trees/ flowers and is not luminated, which may cause you to miss the turn. The area where the hotel is located is well lit, however the angle the hotel sits would take you a moment to realize you're at your destination, the signage is on the very front of the building which you wouldn't see until you pass it. The rooms are outdated, I was in a king suite yet it had no microwave and no refrigerator, yet was advertised. The jetted tub/ whirlpool was worn and in need of refinishing. It took over 30 minutes for the tub to fill using the hot water. The curtains were shredded and the window was ajar upon entry... not even locked, which was a bit scary because my room was accessible from the outside. I liked the fact the windows were still able to be opened. However, there was no screen nor protection to keep the window from opening. The vent where the heat/ air comes out had lots of dust collected in there, causing throat irritation. The floors and hard surfaces seemed pretty clean, which was comforting. I needed to stay another day, but I wasn't comfortable enough. The breakfast was very good and ample on Saturday Horace Sunday the food was very low in quantity. Very odd in that you can hear people walking above you and in the hallway, which can be disturbing, not sure if it's due to the age of the facility, but the sound proof is not that great."
"Booked a room online five days in advance and called to ask if there was a pet deposit fee as I would be bringing one. Was told yes $50. No problem. I go to check in and am told only dogs are allowed. That would have been nice to see on the website or have been told by the woman I spoke to on the phone."
"Despite meeting a few friendly staff, the experience overall was horrendous. The so called Accessibility Room was not large enough to accommodate the Electric Power Wheelchair, the bathroom did not have an appropriate shower chair...let alone a shower that allowed for usage of either right or left side. Housecleaning never vacated the trash, nor straightened the room as asked during the 3 day stay there, DESPITE ASKING THE FRONT DESK EACH DAY AND NIGHT DURING THE STAY, while out on Medical Appointments necessary for current health issues. Lastly, there were no alternatives for ex....i do not eat pork and yet pork was served each and everyday. The waffle iron was broken, and when asking for a straw...none were available. This is the worst place ive ever stayed in and will not frequent it again nor suggest it to anyone else."
"My son and I stayed for three nights - everyone that worked there was exceptional! The staff was pleasant, helpful, and always friendly. Hot breakfast and fresh coffee available every morning. The rooms need a little love and attention in terms of updating, but it was obvious that the staff works very hard and they are working on repairs. Location was convenient and the price was right!"
"I had last stayed here 6 years ago and while many hotels have taken the pandemic to refurbish, this place has not been touched at all. Like not even basic repairs. The place is falling apart. There is a trick to opening the doors and the card keys demagnetize easily and need to be reissued regularly. The catch for the overnight latch was broken in two. The ceiling in the bathroom was peeling and had spots of mold and the panel on the side of the bath had been kicked in at some stage but no one had bothered to even realign it. The mattress in one of the beds was collapsing. The place really is a last resort. I feel sorry for the staff. They were polite and some were friendly but they were clearly sick of guests complaining about issues and management not doing anything about it. If you are on a budget and need a place to stay, it’ll do, but if you have options, take them."
