"Checked in at 6:45. Went straight to pool but left within 20 minutes. Saw about 20 boxelder bugs... dead and crawling. They're in the process of remodeling. Hope they do it. Prime spot close to downtown"

"I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. My finance and I came to Grand Rapids to visit family but only stayed for a night since due to getting in late. The front desk person was extremely disrespectful and seemed racist. My fiancé was trying to check in while I was grabbing the rest of the stuff I needed from the car and the front desk man completely shut him out and asked him “what did he want” instead of greeting like normally as if we did not make our reservation on their website. As I walked in the hotel the man completely stopped talking to my fiancé and started talking to me so that is why I was bringing racism into this because he did not know my fiancé and I were with each other and also my fiancé is darker than I am. I will never ever go back. The next morning during check out the same man was working and I wanted the managers number to explain the problem while my fiancé was taking the bag to the car the older gentleman yelled at me, talked over me, and told me no and that I could not have the managers number."

"By far the cleanest Baymont we've ever stayed with, coming from a former housekeeping manager at a Baymont. Impressed with cleanliness and overall condition of the hotel. I wish all Baymonts put in this much effort! The only downside is that we were denied late checkout on New Years Day and there were kids stomping and jumping early in the morning directly above us, immediately after asking about late checkout. Service was great otherwise and staff were friendly. Location was convenient! We appreciate the hospitality and definitely recommend for a reasonable price with hospitable stay."

"Stayed here for one night as my daughter had an appointment at Helen Devos early morning. It was very confusing to find as another hotel is directly in front of it. The lady working the front desk was very polite but the hotel was in horrible condition. The carpets needs to be replaced, stains all over. The rooms are smaller than thought to be and the furniture is in horrible condition, it felt as if I were sleeping on a slab of concrete. The sink is separated from the bathroom, the bathtub was chipped, the water had to be turned up all the way just to get decently warm water that reeked of chlorine. The curtains had to be held shut with a hair clip as they would not stay closed on their own. Definitely would not stay here again, disappointed."

"Old and out dated…. My room was clean but the bed was so hard, literally like sleeping on a rock, and there were springs poking me as well. I don’t even get me started on questioning the safety of their elevator, as soon as you step into it it drops a little bit scared the daylights out of you. I was terrified riding in it. The vending machines only take cash when the hotel only takes card… that just seems weird to me. Almost nobody carries cash anymore. It’s time to update your vending machines, elevator and your beds. I feel like when you pay $100 a night you should sleep in a comfortable bed. And definitely not one so over used. Also the person was kind during check in, how ever she seems to not really like her job… because if you ever ask her to do anything extra, she seemed to have quite a negative attitude and was rather rude."
