"My cousin and I just spent three nights at the Colonial House Inn for a girls' getaway, and it was the perfect location and experience for us. St. Ignace is charming and fairly quiet, which was exactly what we were looking for. The Colonial House is in the perfect location for all kinds of fun U.P. experiences. We walked everywhere for two days of our trip - the ferry to Mackinac Island, restaurants (with pleasant bars), ice cream, the Museum of Ojibway Culture - all were an easy walk from the Inn. On the third day, we drove up to Sault Ste. Marie to see the Soo Locks and wave to Canada - it was a pleasant hour's drive, and fascinating. We stayed in the Cherry Room, with a beautiful view of the lake, comfortable bed (on the firm side, which we both preferred), and plenty of room to spread out and relax. Inn manager Mike really made our stay special, with great conversation, lots of terrific recommendations for activities, and courtly hospitality. And breakfast was delicious! I hope to return to the Upper Peninsula one day, and I will absolutely stay at the Colonial House Inn again."

"We stayed in the motel section in room #7. It is on the second floor and has the best view of the harbor. Breakfast is not included. There is no coffee maker in the room. There is a diner next door. The staff was friendly and made several local suggestions for food and attractions. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony which included a glass topped table and two wicker chairs."
