"I recently stayed at an affordable motel located right next to the locks, and here's my review: I chose this motel primarily for its unbeatable location, and it didn't disappoint. Situated just steps away from the locks it allowed me to make the most of my visit without any hassle. The convenience factor alone was worth the stay. The room, while not the most luxurious, was clean and had all the essentials. The beds were comfortable, and I had a good night's sleep after a day of exploring the attraction. The staff was friendly and helpful, offering recommendations and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. The motel's affordability was a significant plus, especially considering its prime location. It allowed me to allocate more of my budget to enjoying the attractions and local experiences. If you're looking for a budget-friendly option that maximizes your experience at the main attraction, this motel is a solid choice. While it may not offer all the bells and whistles of a higher-end hotel, its location and affordability make it a practical and convenient option for travelers."

"Excellent location, cozy, clean, price was affordable. You literally can’t stay any closer to the locks. If viewing the freighters is your goal you will be delighted. Our room was remodeled. It was small and cozy but perfectly clean and everything was in working order. I plan to return."

"Great location and really cute from the outside. We booked one of the remodeled rooms and it was nicely decorated on the inside. Unfortunately, the room itself was not well cleaned. My partner and I checked in and then went to explore the town and didn’t inspect the room until we got back and were getting ready to go to bed, by that time the office was closed. It didn’t seem like the sheets had been changed. There were several black hairs on the bed sheets and the floors hadn’t been swept. There were lots of crumbs on the floor by the side of the bed. We didn’t feel comfortable sleeping there and ended up staying at a different hotel down the street. When I called the next morning the lady at the desk told me that she had personally cleaned it herself, but it didn’t look like it had been throughly done at all."

"First time we have been here and we hope to be back a lot. The locks just across the street give an amazing view. The owners were awesome. We had an issue that they handled immediately and actually went above and beyond. We really enjoyed our stay. If you are coming to the Soo, you should try this quaint motel."

"After being told the room plumbing was backed up, they offered the solution of staying in one room and using a restroom across the parking lot. Fortunately a plumber fixed the problem...but left the mess behind including water on the floor dripping from the sink drain. The tub caulking was extremely moldy. Few channels on the television worked. One coffee cup provided for 4 people. Left to grab coffee in town at 7AM. Came back an hour later to the bedding being completely stripped despite us not checking out of our room. Manager claimed that an emails documenting the experience were lost in her junk folder."
