"The rooms are quaint. The housekeepers are nice and ready to help the customers if they need information on the town. There are two different types of rooms. The there is the hotel part and then there are cabins. The rooms in the hotel have one bed in each but the cabins are bigger and offer more privacy. You can visit the locks which are just across the street or wonder down the street and search the shops. It is pet friendly so you don't have to leave your pets home. We stayed here while we were all home for a funeral. Everyone loved the atmosphere and the kindness of the workers. In the summer they offer an awesome breakfast for their customers. But right now is off season so it is on winter hours for the office. But the housekeepers are still there keeping the rooms up and making sure that your stay is as nice as they can make it for you. The manager is sweet and she is very helpful and she keeps it running Smoothly. A very nice quiet place to rest and relax when you need to or just to enjoy the quint rooms and friendly atmosphere."

"This was our first and definitely last time visit. There's actually NO view of anything but the parking lot and lots of cars, unlike the website's description. The cottage rooms are horrible, small and cold , NO floor matts or rugs anywhere including the bathroom! There's no where to sit except the bed, and there is no where to put your clothes! NO dresser drawers or closet! I think they don't want you to stay more than one night, worst part was that our smoke alarm kept chirping all night and finally went off at 3 in the morning, it was hard wired so we couldn't even take the battery out! I called the office to get some advice in which they never returned my call. Such a bad experience, unfortunately, yes it's right across the street from the Locks and attattractions, but I'd rather stay in a more decent comfortable place and drive to the area vs what we went through."

"Yikes. Our room smelled extremely bad of mold/mildew from an obvious water leak that had taken place in the bathroom. A tip off should have been that they left the bathroom window open, even though it was quite chilly and the tub feels spongy when you step in for a shower, perhaps due to the subfloor being wet/rotted. At 8 am, the staff began using a leaf blower right outside everyone's cabins/rooms in what I could only ascertain as a passive aggressive way to wake everyone up and get them on their way so the cleaners could begin. Hard pass on this one - it's minimally renovated and ownership needs to spend time making the rooms a bit more inhabitable. The location is good, but isn't worth the assault on your sinuses if you end up in the same cabin we had."

"We had a mishap with another reservation and had to find a room at the last second. They were only place in the Soo that had any rooms left so we had no choice. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and staff was exceptional. Our room was very small but fine for our 1 night stay. Having the locks across the road was nice. Big disappointment was the price gouging done to us because of no other rooms in the area. We paid about $100.00 more than the usual prices I found on line for this motel….only reason did not give it 5 stars."

"This is not a big chain motel. Its an awesome location mid town right across from the locks. Great value. Good breakfast. Nice mattresses. Clean. Strong water pressure in the shower. We had a 2 queen bed cottage room which was very roomy. Its seems to be in the process of some renovations. I will stay again!"
