"owner at the counter was very rude and disrespectful, came up here as a vacation thing and brought our service dog ( who is tiny tiny and very quiet dog) and he threw a fit denying it saying no animals aloud no matter what . also said even if you was blind and had a service dog he’d still deny you and not let you stay. must of not known that by law a service dog is allowed no matter what. he sat and argued it for minutes on until finally we realized the old man wouldn’t get over it and he clearly had something against animals . so we ended up having to find a sitter. other than that the room was okay though had central air and was decently comfy and a quiet place to stay. so all in all not a bad place to stay if you have no animals with you. wish i would of read the reviews first to find out how horrible and disrespectful the owners of this place is so i had a heads up on how disrespectful he would be."

"Rustic, has electric, bathroom, refrigerator. Old but very well kept. Clean grounds. Affordable. Family owned. We slept well. Will return."

"I have never written an online before but feel strongly enough about how horrible our stay was here that I was compelled to write one. I would NEVER recommend the pines motel to anyone, I repeat - DO NOT stay here! We had centipedes, spiders and crickets in our room. There was a leftover over pizza box from the previous guest left above the cupboard, stains on the carpet and a horrific musty smell. We were supposed to stay 3 nights and ended up leaving after two nights because of all of this. When we checked out the owner did not even apologize to my husband or offer to try to fix the situation at all. I call there after we were home and the owner was not helpful during the call. He told me we probably brought the bugs back from our charter boat trip on Lake Michigan. He would not refund our last nights stay and was very combative on the phone. There is a reason this motel has vacancy."

"This place is not huge or fancy instead its quaint and personable which in my book is way better and more appealing to our big family. We were welcomed just like any other guest and didn't have to worry about other guests in and out of their rooms and in hallways at all hours of the nights cause the cabins have their own doors right in the beautiful forest. Bugs were minimal so much that I didn't even have to spray my kids with poison to keep them safe which is a big bonus. The rooms were super affordable which again for a big family is great!"

"I do not for the life of me know why there are some negative reviews for this motel. Some of them made me leary about this place. But I have not experience any of these negative review's. We arrived yesterday for a two night stay.(our first time here) We were greeted by a super nice owner. She was polite and helpful during my registration. Out room is very comfortable and clean. The beds are fresh smelling and comfortable. The first morning we were here. The owner knocked at our door and ask if we needed anything. Plus as we grilled on the provided grills in the court yard she came out and ask me if I needed a spatula. There were several others in the court yard, and they told us this was not their first time here. And the owners have always been polite and helpful to them. I not only want to come back next year I want to come back this fall. Goes to show you. Don't believe everything people write negative about a place. Clean, friendly, comfortable."
