"Quite clean, quite basic, quite nice old-fashioned motel just a few hundred yards or so from shopping, fast food and banks. Customer service was polite and matter of fact, but was always treated kindly. Quiet, peaceful."

"If I could give zero stars, I would. I’m an artist, in town for the art fair this weekend. This was one of the last places we could book a room, so we took a chance on it in order to be close to City Park so as to be on time for set up early each day. This motel is disgusting. The rooms have not been updated in decades. I’m not talking about dingy carpet or ugly bedspreads, I’m talking fixtures, locks, windows, etc. Like, seriously outdated in functional ways that would make one feel safe, much less comfortable. The bathroom sink was held up by cheap shelving brackets from a hardware store. The toilet seat was the wrong size for the bowl, making a very precarious perch for deposits, if you catch my drift. The bed, about 8” off the ground so you had to fall onto it, had about four functioning springs left in it and provided one of the worst nights of sleep I’ve had in years. The room greeted you with a face full of cigarette smoke upon entry, despite its billing as a “non-smoking” room. Once you acclimated to the cigs, it morphed into a lingering cocktail of mildew and unwashed feet. Worst of all was the major partying both Thursday and Friday nights by some Kid Rockish fellow guests, one of whom drove a heavy equipment dump truck and parked it directly outside our room. That was fun to hear it fire up at 11:45 p.m. through the tissue paper walls. If there had ever been insulation in those walls, vermin carried it off for nesting material in the Reagan era. The party, which kept growing to more and more folks with nothing better to do on a Friday night than sit in plastic lawn chairs outside at a fleabag motel and swap “who’s diddling who” stories (trust me, I can tell you anything you want to know about Emily, Chase, Tyler and other characters whose lives were discussed at length). At midnight on Friday, we reached our limit and packed up and walked out, after going online and booking a suddenly-available room at the Comfort Inn down the road. We did inform the young night manager as we dropped off the key. His reaction to our news of the party driving us out was completely uninterested and no cares were given, nor were they expected. By the way, the room was $105 per night, compared to the $140 we paid at Comfort Inn, so the savings were not substantial. Do yourself a HUGE favour and ski right past this piece of garbage that is the Sun and Snow."

"This place is disgusting. It smells so bad of smoke, mold, and stink bugs. They have bed bugs! I had to throw away my own sheets and pillow’s because not only did they smell terrible after just one night being there, they had bed bug and other bugs crawling on you. It’s so dirty and smells so bad you can’t even breathe. I had to keep the door and window open all day and it still smelled horrible. The floors were so dirty, it’s just overall disgusting. Not even worth the price. Please go somewhere else"

"My young children and I were in need of a room for one night due to a power outage at our apartment. We were having a hard time finding a place to stay without having a booking or very pricey deposit. We came here as a last resort and I'm glad we did. The staff were very nice and helpful and we got a room at a decent price with a low priced deposit. The room was very clean and cozy with a fridge, microwave, cable and air conditioning. Everything we needed. Our room had a nice view of the lake. Also there is a coffee shop, laundromat, restaurant, and ice cream place right next door within walking distance along with other activities close by. Great location! Great staff! Nice clean comfortable room with comfy bed! Beautiful view! Overall great stay! Thanks Sun n snow!"
