"Shower was way too small. The bathroom as a whole was way too small. Carpet essentially muddy, ruined all my white socks. Spider webs behind bed and bugs. Host claimed that by being up north, that I should expect bugs in the room. Not acceptable - I’m not outside in a tent. I thought I paid for a clean room not infested with insects."
"We stayed for 5 days and concluded that we should have spent more on a better place. This is definitely a budget/low end motel. Our main complaint was that the rooms were NOT clean. The carpet floors are filthy and turned the bottoms of our socks black with dirt. The bathroom was infested with an ant colony. We found multiple earwigs crawling on our pillows and bed. They made their way into our clothes and we ended up finding them while unpacking at home…The queen beds frames are loose and unstable. The mattress has no support and you will find yourself sunken in. The “shower” can barley accommodate a child rather than a grown adult. The bathroom is tiny and you would be lucky to squeeze in between the shower and sink to use the toilet. The host was not accommodating or understanding of our concerns when we requested a partial refund. The room was not as advertised “clean”. We were beyond disappointed with the room. The only upside was the location and closeness to the lake and Glen arbor."
"It's a place to sleep. That's it. Each room is a monument to knotty pine wood paneling and the bathrooms are so small they might be described as "airplane-ish". I say "ish" because airplane bathrooms don't have windows. This place has bathrooms with windows but no curtains. Taking a shower there feels like you are in nature because you are surrounded by knotty pine and everyone outside can see you. The room rate is expensive but everything within 80 miles of Traverse City is expensive. If you want an impromptu "up north" vacation and everything else is booked AND you are just starting out in exhibitionism then this place is probably perfect for you."
"Very pleasant and cozy motel. Old knotty pine interior wall very cool. Comfortable bed. We had a very enjoyable two nights there. Right by the lake and just minutes from glen arbor, sleeping bear park, empire and glen haven. For those complaining about the small bathroom, this is the size they USED to be in motels. Plenty of room for what a bathroom is used for."
"I visit the area a couple times a year and was coming to play in the Glen Arbor Tennis Tournament and wanted a place that was close, convenient, and reasonable. I read the deposit policy so I didn’t book until I was sure. I can understand it would be difficult for this little place to find a new booking when someone cancels as it is not well known. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small but was sufficient for my needs. The AC worked great and cleared the air inside quickly. I was pleasantly surprised I could find the tennis channel on cable. You don’t usually see that at more pricey hotels as it usually bundled in the sports package. The staff was helpful and professional and check-in and out at the marina was easy. I’m looking forward to my next stay and will recommend it to others as well."
