"Owner was very unprofessional screaming at his staff and me saying he will not give me a refund. I paid 275.00 for the week gave him 580.00 . He was yelling so bad at his personal that she was sick . Other staff members were afraid of him . He yelled and me and stormed out the door I had to call the PD who stated they have had several complaints about him . I will have to go to court to retain my deposit from him . DO NOT STAY HERE . You will get ripped off !!! Toilet was zip tied to flush instead of being fixed correctly. He definitely has some anger issues especially treating staff and customers in that manner . Stay at your own risk pay with a credit card so you can dispute charges ."

"The place has deteriorated rapidly. I booked cabin 7 a year in advance, called to confirm three weeks prior, and then the resort called me the day of saying my cabin was rented long term. I was half way there on my 380 mile drive. They did put me in cabin 6. It doesn't have a kitchen. Plus, less room. They didn't lower the price to compensate for the changes. Don't risk staying there and ruining your trip."

"The worst!! Our whole group reserved a year in advance, 1 week before we find out that 4 out of 9 cabins have been reserved for long term or just rented out period….with NO phone call from the owner who has known about our stay for 1 year, he received it on a excel spreadsheet!! The septic backed up in half of the cabins this year and in years past we’ve had toilets that don’t work, ants, dog food on the floor. Check out other places….this place is not worth it."

"Rated zero. Brentwood Lodge in Indian River Michigan, misrepresents itself stating they can manage handicap accessibility and needs. After you arrive, they take your money in advance, not showing you the room, making you fully pay, in advance, for the number of days requested. When you arrive, you find not only can they not accommodate you needs, but refuse stating that’s your problem when you remind them, they told you they could accommodate your needs the response is so we were wrong and that’s your problem. We tried telling the fine we understand, but due to medical issues we cannot stay there. Again we get the response that’s our problem, fully acknowledging they cannot help. We had no problem staying the one night, it was late and we would take care of it in the morning. Instead of the $143.75 for the one night we were forced to pay in full for the four nights, $575.00 with no refund, again acknowledging they could not accommodate us, but too bad, our problem not theirs. The cabin was so small there was just hall way space between beds and kitchenette. No way to move around in wheelchair, or try using Walker. The towels were dirty, the tub was dirty, rusted out, the toilet paper roll broke off the wall just getting a piece of paper to wipe. The sink was dirty, no soap. We left by 9:00 AM, way before check out, plenty of time to prepare for another guest. Due to home damage, the insurance company paying for temporary housing, was treated just as rude and management hung up on them. Management needs replaced, and missing owner needs to be more present. ADDED PHOTOS of room with our stuff, we literally had to climb over each other."

"Made a reservation over a year ago, go in a month ago in person to to double check the reservation. Everything was good. Go in to check in to day and magically my reservation was canceled 3 weeks ago not by me and you cant tell me by who? Conveniently though the people who got my place were right behind me and staying for a week. Just admit you canceled my two day reservation for the people who were staying for a week! So now i am 5 hours away from home and no where to stay! Do not stay here shady business practices!!"
