"My husband and I had our reception here for our wedding on 9/2/23. The locations was amazing! Staff was very courteous and efficient. The location is beautiful. Food was very good. There was plenty for guests of all ages to do between the outdoor activities and downtown. Amy Starr was a huge help with the planning and the day of organization. She truly made it so I could just enjoy our reception. She was also a great resource when searching for other vendors. Many of our guests said they would love to come back to visit. I know my husband and I will definitely stay at the Walnut again in the future."

"I always appreciated these reviews as a bride, and this one is lengthy but I cannot express how great Gordon Lodge is. I’m going to start out by saying this, that if anyone is going to get married in the Door County area, you should pick Gordon Lodge. It was SO convenient to have everyone on site, as well as having everything in one place for our day. They do have a two night minimum (like everywhere else in Door County), but we were so thankful for that because the night of goes SO fast. We had around 150 guests, and I can’t imagine saying hi to everyone in one night! It’s just impossible! So we were thankful we saw people starting Thursday since that’s when we headed up there. The Gordon Lodge came with a day of coordinator, Amy Starr. She was AMAZING! I CANNOT imagine the stress of planning a wedding without her. She did a lot more than just this, but even having her plan the timeline for me was so helpful! I was able to give it to my photographers/other vendors, and our day of went SO smooth because of her. I remember not even worrying about the time/where to be, etc because Amy handled all of that. It was also so helpful to drop off all our decor/decorations and have her handle where they should go. (Brides, trust the professionals!!) Amy also was great in our multiple cancellations we had the week of, and was so helpful in putting those funds other places so they didn’t go to waste. She checked in multiple times the day of the wedding, and even my bridesmaids commented on how fun she was. The staff handled all the set up/take down of decor (again, hire a venue that does this! It was so nice having everyone enjoy the day/weekend and not have to do these tasks!) and we got to pick everything up Sunday morning that was already packed up for us. We received a lot of compliments on how great they were, and also how delicious all our food options were. Gordon Lodge is a beautiful setting to have your wedding. There are endless places for backdrops of pictures. The ceremony site is gorgeous as well. We even got to rent a house on property for all our bridal party to stay in which was so fun. It was a “one stop shop” and I can’t tell you how many compliments we received from our guests on everything for our wedding weekend."

"A beautiful, well manicured resort! Clean, inviting lobby! Receptionist was very welcoming and informative. The outdoor pool and hot tub was amazing, even on a cool October eve! Our room was clean, well stocked and welcoming with a bottle of wine! The included breakfast was delicious. The staff friendly and professional, (a shame many of the guests do not leave a tip for them)! Definitely a return to place!!!"

"My wife booked a room through a third party site due to the hotel itself historically always being overpriced and not having any discounts on rooms. She emailed the hotel staff prior to booking to make sure that we could use a $150 gift card that was purchased for us as a wedding anniversary gift. The hotel staff member informed my wife that we could use that gift card towards our room. When on the last day we went to use the gift card, the male manager at the desk said we could not use the gift card. Mind you, nothing on the gift card had anything about not being able to use the gift card when booking with other sites. You CAN NOT use the gift card for anything else at Gordon Lodge for ANYTHING else. The manager told us to use it during our next booking. NO THANKS! This place is WAY overpriced even for Door County. We spent a lot of money at this place both during our wedding 2 years ago and during this trip; he could have easily made an exception but I have heard from many other guests that they are very greedy when it comes to these types of things. Also, the small cabin we paid a very steep price for was very musty smelling and the furniture looked like it hadn't been cleaned all summer. I'd highly recommend going to another hotel in the area as the only thing you'll be paying for here is a great view that can be had at the other myriad of hotels in the area. Last time staying here."

"Beautiful view, calm and tranquil environment. The room was clean and retro themed. The small cabin on the lake was a beautiful choice for my husband and I to enjoy the end of our travels. Thank you to the staff for helping make our stay that much more relaxed after a very poor experience with Expedia. We look forward to returning and enjoying more than a one night stay. This resort has so much to offer. For us it was the perfect end to a lovely vacation. Just look at that sunset view. It the weather permits be sure to slide outside and embark on the stunning view of the stars. Unwind, relax & enjoy we sure did."
