"My fiance asked me to marry him under a waterfall and we stayed here afterwards. So romantic! They have kayaks to take on the water. We brought the kids the next year. The only bad part was the kids got a bunch of leeches at the beach. Other than that it was very nice and relaxing."

"Really cool mid century modern decor in the rooms. Very comfortable beds and strong hot water pressure in the shower . Muffins and coffee in the morning with oatmeal and tea all great. We even got into the kayaks and spent some of the morning on the lake with the ducks and geese. Stunning sunset on the lake. Great retreat"

"This is a beautiful historic place. The rooms including the bathrooms are spacious, clean and unique. Our stay was very quiet. We were busy enjoying what the Upper Peninsula has to offer so we didn’t spend a lot of time at the resort. There are kayaks and a row boat to use. Coffee and muffins in the morning while sitting on the covered porch and enjoying the beautiful view was a perfect way to start the day"

"Great Lodge! Start off by saying my 16 year old daughter said this was one of her favorite places we have ever stayed in. Lodge has nice rooms with cool history and pictures of that history. Beds of comfy and nice pillows also. Even down to the peppermint scented body wash and lotions was a nice touch. Great view of the lake. We really enjoyed the free kayaks and row boats. Took the kayaks from the big lake down a small water way to another lake, fun trip. Nice location if you want to get out for a day trip. Owner was very polite and helpful, same with all the staff. It was a very cool touch to have conversations with all of them abut the grounds and history and general talk. Relax but with stuff to do. I could keep going but just going to wrap it up with if you thinking of staying here... DO IT!"
