"This was a small vacation just so we can take our big babies! We could not have chosen a better place! We have an 85lb Doberman and a very scared 75lb shep x. Sandy did excellent in welcoming us and understanding our babies are not the hugging type. The outside door to our room was perfect when getting our dogs out to avoid other people. Unfortunately our girl hurt her shoulder so we spent more time in our room then we had planned but Sandy was very accommodating when we mentioned we would be checking some nearby places out and leaving the dogs to rest. Sometimes they get very talkative and Sandy said she enjoyed listening!! We will definitely return with the girls in tow!"
"My husband and I travel to Door County several times a year but rarely during peak summer time And we usually stay in Sister Bay. But this was to be a mid week one night stay due this a business trip. Our innkeeper,Sandy was very accommodating. My husband asked for a room with a queen bed and a bathroom which had grab bars for safety - as I have balance problems. The room we had was absolutely perfect!"
"Nice quaint place. Was told it is the only handicap accessible and pet friendly B&B in the area. Nice quick breakfast that seemed to be baked that day. Yum. Plus Door county coffee for the wife keeps her happy."
"Very clean and comfortable. ...rooms are big. Common areas were great for playing games or just having conversations. Sandy and Eli were kind and took great care with our dogs. Had a nice stay."
"Stayed recently at the end of the main season in door county. (Fall fest) When opening the main door, we were immediately greeted by the very specific smell of "dog." it was rather unpleasant and very noticeable. We were greeted by the owner, and she showed us around and to our room. she was kind. The rest of the house was "cleanish" as was our room. The decor was similar to the photos on the website. It was rather warm, we requested the temp turned down and that request was addressed. The bed was made well, fresh linens. We did notice quite a bit of dust in the room, on everything. The fan swung a bit off balance even on low. we did have to open windows to vent the space from the lesser, but still noticeable smell of dog. We spent most of our weekend outside and away as planned, after all its door county! Sunday morning at approx 650am we were rudely awoken by barking dogs. Yes, this place is dog friendly, which as a dog owner, I appreciate. (no dogs with me on this trip) I did not see or hear any other dogs in the B&B, until this time. for 45 minutes, YES WE ACTUALLY TIMED IT, I listened to 2 dogs bark non stop outside the room window. It ruined the restful lazy Sunday morning we planned and ticked me off to the point where we gathered our stuff and left. we also did notice the general noise coming from upstairs. while it wasn't loud, it was noticeable and it appears maybe the owners live there or stay there when there are guests. that's great to have site management but it was disruptive to the quiet in general. Barking dogs are normal, its their way to communicate. However, after a min or two, even a few. they should have been tended to. It was really a bummer and abrupt ending to our stay. I didn't see the owner on the way out. Tried to email, unable to do so. Didn't try calling, yet, however usually these issues are better addressed via email. Overall it wasn't a bad stay, but the commentary of dog smell, dog barking and such appears to be a common theme. I would assume it would be okay to bring your pets there, lots of supportive reviews on that. the room was nicely sized and felt welcoming in general. just sharing our experience overall. *location was great to be away from traffic and chaos but close enough to get to all the fun!"
