"I never had any direct interactions w/Kerry Roop exactly. W/ the limited exception, of having had the privilege of introducing myself, and, of course, explaining, that I was currently stationed @ Chanute A.F.B., & had been recently working w/John Monchak's guy, (Brad Hefton) whom Roop was slated fight for Unified World Heavyweight Title Belt the very next day. The conversation, if in fact you could even call it one, really, only lasted for few seconds, or so. But plenty long enough, for me to be able to easily glean, that Kerry Roop was in some deep water w/ Hefton for sure. But nevertheless, it was crystal clear that he was definitely one very good Man!"

"Mr. Kerry Roop has been and will continue to be one of the most inspirational role models for my 5 and 8 year old children. Through Mr. Roop, my children continue to strive to do their very best in every day life, to be great human beings, and to treat others with respect and curtesy. My children have the discipline to face challenges, think before they act, think for themselves to decide what is right and wrong. Everything you want your children to become is taught by Mr. Roop. I admire and am truly grateful for how Mr. Roop is guiding me and my children to live a life with more wisdom and discipline in a positive direction!! P.S. I feel very bad for that person who was so blind to see how amazing Super Kicks for America could have been for their family."

"As a former student I can not believe I clicked on this and saw someone say anything remotely inappropriate about Mr. Roop. He teaches kids martial arts and how to be an awesome human being. Ignore that comment. Unbelievable ma’am you should absolutely delete that and be ashamed of yourself. I was a female student of his as a child and never once got a strange vibe. That’s absolute slander. Erase it."

"A "bad vibe" shouldn't be all it takes to get a one star. Kerry Roop is a highly experienced teacher and combatitives practitioner. I've trained at his facilities. He was likeable, real, and I watched him teach kids and never saw anything inappropriate. Touching - or tactile cueing - is essential for teaching children and adults. A bad teacher can instruct, "Your shoulder is in the wrong position," forever and the student will never get it. Or the instructor can come over, say, "Here, like this. Shoulders here," and reposition them hands on ONE TIME and the student learns instantly. Furthmore, there is SO MUCH INFORMATION available online - Kerry's life story in the ring, in archived Detroit News articles, etc. He's one of the few martial arts instructors you can research and learn about before enrolling in class."

"This place is awesome! our son is taking lessons from Mr. Roop and he is great with him, and such an informative guy, i even learn stuff about history while watching. Usually our son loses interest very quick but right after we leave he's asking when he's going back. definitely would recommend. as far as the other negative review, karate is physical and sometimes you need to be positioned correctly in order to learn correctly. i wouldn't even consider that review valid for a place that teaches karate."
