"Originally we were looking for a tae kwon do gym. We visited a nearby facility and were not happy with having the 12 year olds mixed in with adults so we left that place and googled martial arts and came across Rise. We stopped in just to observe and were thoroughly impressed. First off they have classes with different age ranges geared toward kids under 20. This was a game changer. Our son is in classes with kids age 12-17. He feels comfortable being around other teenagers. This studio teaches mixed martial arts which we love because the students learn moves that they can use to defend themselves out in the real world if needed. This actually really resonated with us since our son was interested in martial arts because he has been a victim of bullying for many years. We feel so blessed to stumble upon this facility in our search. Our son is learning confidence, respect, and great skills that he can use to protect himself. The students earn belts just like in other martial arts. We plan to stay here until he learns all he can and that would be a black belt. He is just a white belt, but with time and patience he will reach the top and face the world with confidence and be able to protect himself."
