"Unfortunately, I was denied care without even a conversation, due to my plan to have a home birth. The voicemail they left to inform me was full of assumptions, stating "many of our past home birth parents would not show up consistently to appointments.'' and ''we can't offer home visits'' I never asked for or assumed they offered home visits. I had no intentions of 'not showing up' to scheduled appointments. I plan to take my babies for well checks and scheduled vaccines. For them to assume I'd be an 'irresponsible' client is inappropriate and felt unethical. The fact that they denied care because of stigma and negative assumptions about parents who birth at home was incredibly surprising, even for me as someone who works in the medical field. I hope to find pediatric medical providers in the area who show parents and families more respect and patient centered care than what I received here. I at least deserved a conversation and to be asked my intentions for medical care. Hopefully this is not their regular way of communicating with potential patients."

"Cannot overstate how wonderful this practice is. Every nurse, staff member, and doctor we've worked with has gone above-and-beyond in big and small ways. When you call, you are rung through to the front desk right away (not on hold forever like at my PCP). The nurses have been SO kind and helpful in answering tons of questions, which as new parents has been game-changing. We are never rushed out of the office even though we always come with lots of questions. We are so happy to have found Liberty Pediatrics!"

"You should never be denied healthcare because of your provider's religious or moral beliefs. After setting an appointment to meet with Liberty Pediatrics to determine if their practice and our family were a good fit, they canceled it upon the advice of someone who is a stranger to us. The physician who called to cancel explained that they would not accept our children based on this other person's opinions about our beliefs. I'm not sure what this individual said about my family, but two things concern me, and should concern anyone considering care under this group: 1. They pay attention to hearsay. 2. Decisions they make about their medical practice are informed, if not dictated, by their religious or moral beliefs. They came very highly recommended by another physician we highly respect, so we are disappointed to find it was, in fact, a poor recommendation. Fortunately, we discovered this due to their own admission prior to being seen by them. Wedding cakes and photographers refusing service due to their beliefs is one thing, but medical providers doing so is an entirely new level. This is not an inclusive practice, so you might want to make sure you're the right kind of person before applying unless you don't mind hearing "We don't treat kids like yours.""

"I cannot believe the experience I had here yesterday. We moved abroad but still have insurance coverage in America and this used to be our pediatrician. We were visiting for a month and both my little ones were very sick with fevers and we called in the morning and played phone tag all day only to have Mary Lou call back after 1 to say that they don't see patients who don't live locally anymore and they were not equipped to handle the complexity of foreign health insurance. It is not a foreign plan, I can give you my policy number or pay cash. Mary Lou says oh I don't handle that. So wait, you are denying me care on the basis of where I live, my ethnicity or my ability to pay... which is it? You just don't want to deal with us. She agrees. Why did you guys bother asking me about symptoms as if you were going to help? I have never spoken to a doctor about care for sick children and had such a callous response focused on the money, only in America. Thanks for waisting my time when I could have just found a different doctor. They are asking me for information about my kids symptoms and telling me a doctor would call back only to be like just kidding! Good luck finding help on a Friday afternoon, you really should get them looked at by someone. Outrageous and shameful behavior that I really should have expected. Unfortunately they are a business first and a medical practice second."

"My kids have been seeing Dr. Gold since 2011. She’s great with all three of my kids. Her personality is perfect. Low key and approachable during visits. Speaks directly to the kids. Follow up when we need nudging. Is not alarmist but also is very thorough. She’s truly a child advocate, it’s very obvious she cares deeply about the kiddos she treats! Also so pleased with the support staff. I’ve never had to wait for a call back when I’m worried."
