"The best OB office out there! Wonderful caring staff! I love everyone. They make me feel so comfortable. I can not recommend them enough! I’m so thankful I listened to a friend and made an appointment to be seen here. Thank you guys for all that you do!! Such a great place!!"
"My doctor, Dr. Asao, has been nothing less than an absolute relief and bearer of answers and hope. When he saw my history of endometriosis and my surgical and medical treatment, as well as my history of miscarriages (at that point, I had had 2), he tackled my case efficiently and with empathy. I didn’t feel like I was lost in my fertility journey, I felt confident knowing that there was a plan to discover the answers my husband and I were desperate to have. I became pregnant shortly after my appointment, but it resulted in a chemical pregnancy. Dr. Asao developed a comprehensive plan of next steps leaving us feeling confident and prepared. I was scheduled for a tubal flush and imaging. The procedure was painful, as expected, and both Dr. Asao and my ultrasound tech were nothing but comforting, kind, compassionate, and efficient. Dr. Asao discussed the imaging and blood results in a timely manner, which included an abnormal karyotype. He was 100% transparent that he couldn’t give me all of the answers about the karyotype results, but he would give me the information he does have and follow up by referring me to a geneticist. He then scheduled me to have a procedure to formally diagnose what was found in the imaging taken during my last appointment. We did manage to conceive, but unfortunately, my pregnancy resulted in a 4th miscarriage. I called the office and left a message and received a prompt call back. The staff member advised I come in for an ultrasound ASAP since my symptoms could be signs of an ectopic pregnancy. When the receptionist went to book me today, she realized that the ultrasound tech was fully booked for the week. She said she would call me back after she discussed my situation with a doctor. Again, I received a response notifying me that they would be able to see me today. Though I saw a different tech, she was just as compassionate, kind, and efficient as the previous one. Dr. Asao was not in the office today, so I saw Dr. John R. Sanborn. Despite having a fully booked day, he took the time to thoroughly discuss my beta results and the imaging taken during my ultrasound. He stated that he took time to review my file, which is VERY large, and he knew I understood much of what he was going to say, but he went through all of the results in detail so my husband could understand as well. He answered all of my questions, he was patient, and he treated me with the kindness and care. I have read a lot of bad reviews about Generations. Though I have a very positive review to give, I’ve only worked with the mentioned doctors and techs above as well as some of their office staff. I cannot speak to any of the other doctors mentioned in the negative reviews. Finding an OBGYN that will listen to you, speak to you kindly and with compassion, treat you with respect, and exercise competency and expertise is VERY difficult. My experiences with OBGYNs hasn’t been the best: I’ve been misdiagnosed for 7 years, told to do yoga and use essential oils to treat me endometriosis, wasn’t listened to when I requested anesthetics during an IUD insertion even though my records clearly stated I had severe cervical pain… that same doctor tossed the cervical dilation tool onto the med tray and stormed out when I screamed and jolted when he attempted to dilate my cervix, and was schedule to see a doctor who was on materiality leave and was left bleeding while miscarrying in my car for an hour while they found someone to see me… I’ve had TERRIBLE experiences. It shouldn’t be this hard to find a doctor, but that is our reality. If you are looking for a good OBGYN, I strongly recommend Dr. Asao and Dr. Sanborn - they have been patient, kind, knowledgeable, PROACTIVE, and empathetic. Reflect on the reviews here and make an educated decision on your choice of an OBGYN. I could have avoided my bad experiences had I done my research, and I could have prevented others from such experiences had I reported them. Don’t make my mistake and do your research and make an educated decision. My husband and I are very happy with our decision"
"I was happy overall with the care I received during my pregnancy. However, when it came to birth the doctor on call lied to me about the position of the baby and laughed about it to the nurses on her way out the door. My doula overheard and informed me. I lost my faith in that doctor and willed myself to hold on until the next doctors shift. This should be addressed in the next staff meeting that lying to patients for own personal convenience is unacceptable. I will stay with generations because I received quality, honest care from all other doctors."
"Will never go here again. Rules about you cannot bring a toddler with your to your appointment.... ridiculous.. I don't have a nanny or sitters at my disposal. Second sloppy surgeon.. didn't fully remove my fibroid and it grew back and had two miscarriages.... the snobbery of this practice... wow. and if you need them to answer the phone forget about it.. ghetto!"
"I have been going to this practice since 2014 - I have went through two pregnancies with this group. The second pregnancy, it became clear this practice was not taking their time during appointments and made mistakes. I arrived at the hospital during my second pregnancy at midnight and did not give birth until after 8:00am. Dr. Huston was at the hospital that night and did not come see me one time, the doctors switched at 7:00am or so and the new doctor didn’t come to my room until 30 seconds before the baby was out. Apparently she had a surgery scheduled which is understandable, but I think it’s bizarre that Dr. Huston didn’t take any time to check in with her patient, I would have been so panicked if that was my first pregnancy. Dr. McCloskey came to see me the second day and made a comment about my baby being loud, I said “it’s a baby” you can tell she felt awkward after that and tried to make more educated comments after that. Is this the worst practice, absolutely not. However, you do not get personal care. This is more of a “factory”. The two wonderful doctors have now retired unfortunately."
