"Thank you to everyone involved with My Son at light house. My son's journey was an uphill battle right from the beginning. When he started showing signs and needed to be screened for ASD COVID hit and shut everything down. We were not able to do certain in-person appointments to get a diagnosis. This was difficult for him and for our family. My son, is a happy kid. But there were difficult times. He did not like car rides, going out to dinner or even going to a store. He would not want to wait in lines. He would not want to sit and eat. He would always be bouncing and would never sit still. He would have loud outburst. He did not know how to communicate with anyone besides his parents which at times would send him into a tantrum. Once My son was diagnosed with ASD we were immediately looking and researching what would be best for him. And of course, we were referred to ABA. We started ABA at one facility because there was a waitlist at other facilities and we thought that something was better than nothing. We were wrong. My Son started regressing. He was getting angrier and his tantrums worsened. He wouldn’t get out of the car when it was time to walk into that facility. We knew something was wrong. It is a horrible feeling when you know something is wrong and your non-verbal son is not able to tell you what is going on throughout his day. It was time to get him out of there. That’s when we were introduced to Brittany at light house. It was triple the drive, but after meeting with her and seeing how inviting Lighthouse was, we knew the right move was to get him enrolled there. Since attending Light House all of that has changed. The plans and goals that Brittany put in place for Julian was amazing and tailored for him. His tantrums and outburst shut off almost overnight. He was happy again and was excited to go to Lighthouse. Small everyday things in life that we take for granted, seemed like they were so farfetched for Julian to be able to do. He now will jump in the car and we can go anywhere with no fights. He makes eye contact. He communicates now with a much larger vocabulary. We can take him with us anywhere we go and not have to worry about him not wanting to wait in lines, he doesn’t have outburst or tantrums. He can transition from room to room or sit at circle time. My Son loves to run and play with other kids. He is toilet trained!! There are so many more accomplishments that Julian has made because of his time at Lighthouse and because of the staff and plans that Brittany put into place. We are so thankful that Julian got the opportunity to go there. Julian has a long road in front of him no doubt. But, because of the ABA Therapy that My Son received we know that he can go to a public school and learn with so many other kids. Julian is now attending kindergarten and he is doing amazing. He was so excited when he got there. We just wanted to say thank you and if there are other families that are debating Lighthouse please read my son’s story with them. Thank you Lighthouse!!!"
