Hanger Clinic: Prosthetics & Orthotics

"Trust me when I tell you to stay away from this facility. I've been an amputee for 44 years. I've never had an experience quite like the one I had here. And I hope no one else has to. The clinicians (that I saw anyway) are great but the non-clinical staff are rude, not truthful and frankly, do not do their jobs. So, watch your back with authorizations and billing. I've never been in an office yet where the non-clinical staff straight up lie, but it happens here. My partner and I were both asked to not return to this office. The last review I left praising the clinicians and warning to watch the billing side of things was REQUIRED to be taken down before we could return. Against everything I believe in, I removed the review. Guess what? Still not a single appointment there. Oh and for everyone's information, the Jackson office (non-clinical side) is run by the same woman that caused all of these issues to begin with. As amputees we need to watch out for each other. It's sad when good clinicians aren't the problem, it's an easily replaceable nobody that's causing a financial loss for Hanger and creating a bed experience for at least two of us so far and judging from the other reviews, she's created problems for way more than just us. Best of luck to all amputees, I promise 20 years ago finding good care wasn't this hard. Hopefully the good days will eventually come back around again."

"As a physician, I would never recommend Hanger. They refused to bill my insurance for a back brace, even though my insurance said they will pay. Dan Obey, CO, said the spinal surgeon didn’t provide sufficient notes to support the need for the brace. An orthotist overruled a surgeon and refused to fill a valid prescription, and this was after having the prescription for 3 days."

"As the lady below mentions, Michelle, who handles insurance, is incredibly rude. She will also give inaccurate information without checking with insurance. The front desk lady, Tammy, is also very unfriendly. Make a choice to go elsewhere, and get treated better and get your orthosis or prosthetic faster! A week wasted for no reason for a critical, time sensitive, orthosis. Go elsewhere, please."

"Went there to get my babies shoes and the lady that checked us in was nice and the lady that did the fitting of his shoe was wonderful! But the lady that talked to us about the insurance was so freaking rude. I really wish I didn't have to go back to deal with it. But I dont have a choice I might just try to drive all the way to Kalamazoo instead. She really made us feel stupid for asking questions. Also the lady that called to tell us his shoes were ready to pick was not the nicest either."

"Chris at the clinic has been amazing with building a special foot brace and ordering a custom shoe for my Mother. Chris is super knowledgeable and nice. It took a few appointments to get the brace just right on my Mother's misshapen foot and leg. But it has been a wonderful experience. Thank you Chris so much for being GREAT!!!"
