"Phoenix Multicultural Academy has been very positive for both my son and I as a parent. My son attends Phoenix, We have been apart of the Phoenix Family since he was in Pre-K. I truly believe in the school staff, teachers and Dr. Alex Cintron the school Principal. My son has always had good grades so that has never been an issue with me. He is 8 years old and reads very well for his age, Thanks to the teachers and the resources they offer to help educate him well. When he was in kindergarten he was learning addition, subtraction and multiplication. There are no limits to his learning ability. There are many things being offered at Phoenix to help the students as well as the parents out such as having the Detroit Parent Network also be apart of our family. Through Phoenix DPN offers parents their own Parent Empowerment Center where they can go in just to stop by and say Hi, have a cup of coffee, chat with the other parents,attend workshops such as Make and Take, Leadership Training, or learning how to crochet. You can also use the computers and printers to look for jobs, create a resume and such. Phoenix also has their own social worker located in the school as well as a Michigan works lady who will help you to find jobs, resources and guide you in creating a resume if you need the help. This is just a small amount of "whats always going on at Phoenix" there is also a Parent Empowerment shop where parents get to shop at on certain days. They do this by earning Parent Empowerment Bucks when they attend school meetings, events, volunteer in the school etc... Phoenix also gives away food every month through Gleaners to the parents of children attending the school but also to the community as well. Many community organizations are apart of the Phoenix Family such as Urban Neighborhood Initiatives,Congress of Communities, Southwest Solutions, DHDC, University of MI, In helping to see that there are after-school programs established for our children. I am proud to say that my child attends Phoenix. I know for a fact that Dr. Alex Cintron really cares about his students and does have their best interests in education and well-being at heart. I cannot be any happier to say that I made the decision to keep him in Phoenix. I believe in my son as well as in the other students who attend Phoenix. There are a lot of bright kids at Phoenix. They know that they have someone who truly cares about them, is listening and believes in them. Phoenix really cares for all children and families!"
