"Really saddened to be leaving this review about my university. Impossible to get any legitimate assistance as a student. The financial aid department claims to be open until 4:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon, but they clearly unplugged/turned off the phone by 3:45... When I have gotten through before I have received little to no help. Well, that is until I wrote an angry 5-paragraph email to a dozen high-ranking WSU officers. Of course, then I get a 5-alarm fire response to my problem, and it is solved by the end of business the next day. It feels blatantly obvious that the school has cost-cut its way into being incapable of providing quality assistance to its paying students, short of emergency, all-hands-on-deck situations or complaints that reach the top of the food chain. I shouldn't even have to be chasing down this measly $1,000 scholarship for the Reconnect Award. It should have already been handled by the financial aid department. I guess I should just lower my expectations for my school... The worst part is knowing that I will have to spend the rest of my life enduring unending requests to donate money to my alma mater. 2 stars because they will give me a piece of paper."
"I wouldn't recommend this university for transfer students. They will make you retake courses you don't need while not allowing you to take enough courses to fulfill all the requirements for scholarships. I have tried so hard to work with this university's advisors and administration but it never feels like they're working with me it always feels like they're working against me and getting in my way when I'm just trying to graduate in a timely manner. I also wouldn't recommend the engineering department for transgender individuals who need a department that understands their needs. The STEM departments in Wayne like to say they support lgbtq students when in reality the STEM staff hasn't received any transgender sensitivity training. I have had some awesome professors here but I just can't put into words how clear it has become to me that the school administration couldn't care less about me. On that topic, be careful if you're someone with disabilities applying to this school. If you end up with a nasty professor who won't give you accomodations you need, the school won't do anything to ensure your needs are met."
"Went there for free planetarium show they put on and it was nice. My 4 year old had a good time. I’d recommend attending if u have younger kids!"
"Wayne States art program is top tier with art work placed around campus that exemplifies the artistic spirit of the Industrial Revolution. Five star!"
