"I was a patient here for several years. My experience was average. There were times when I had to call to find out about my lab results, and the call center can’t actually reach anybody in real time, so it takes over a day to get a call back sometimes. Every time I went, I felt like I was seeing a new nurse practitioner and I’m not sure I ever saw a physician. Perhaps that’s normal, but hasn’t been my experience at other practices and it felt like my care was less important to them than cost efficiency. None of that is really enough to give two-star review, but I decided about two years back that I wanted to switch to a different PCP. Since then I have received frequent calls from EPIC Health to schedule an appointment and have informed them at least 6 times that I don’t want to be a patient anymore and to please stop calling me. It continued to happen despite multiple representatives assuring me that nobody will call again. I don’t appreciate a business that continues to pester former patients for years, despite multiple notifications that their calls are unwanted. The only reason I even decided to review this practice is because of these calls and I just want them to stop."
"A pleasurable experience from check in to check out. Front desk staff was pleasant and greeting, nurse who took vitals, etc. was funny and calming, and Dr. Eric was attentive and knowledgeable."
"I have been coming here for 15 years. The service here has gone downhill in the past couple of years. Last month I had my annual physical. My insurance covers 100% for once a year physical with $0 copay. Epic charged me $25 copay and a week later I received a bill from Beaumont for $80 for lab work. I thought this was wrong so I called my insurance. They explained to me that I shouldn’t have been charged a copay and the bill for the lab work from Beaumont is because epic sent my blood to Beaumont for lab tests and they didn’t label it as a yearly physical like they were supposed to so that’s why I’m being charged. I have made 16 phone calls over the past 20 days to epic to try to get them to fix their mistake. After 3 days of leaving messages I was finally able to talk to somebody in billing. They told me that they would reverse the copay charge on their computer and I might get a refund for it but to fix the lab work bill I would have to talk to a different department. It took me 9 days to get somebody from that other department to call me back. She had an attitude with me and acted like I was in the wrong and inconveniencing her. She said she would send a message to the lab department and hung up. 5 days went by and nothing got done so I had somebody from epic leave a message to multiple supervisors as well as the head of the lab department regarding my issue and I was told somebody would be contacting me that day or the next day. It’s been 3 business days since then and no contact from them and nothing has been fixed. I have decided to pay the lab bill with Beaumont because I don’t want them coming after me for an unpaid bill. My wife and I will be finding a new primary care facility and I strongly advise anybody else thinking of coming here to find a different doctor."
"I recommend everyone I know to experience the kind and professionalism Epic health on 9 mi near Woodward has to offer. From the front desk to the waiting room. I felt they were courteous. The nurses worked well together. Even though the doctor was young. She gave me good advice that really made sense about me taking control of my diabetes. She was awesome. She explained what medication best fit me after I told her about my symptoms. Thank you Epic Staff. Happy Holidays."
"Dr Kara is what doctors should be. Kind, considerate, very knowledgeable and understands how to connect with people. She takes the dread out of going to see the doctor.....oh also very thoughtful and proactive when it comes to prescriptions and appointments. The assistants are also very excellent. I've yet to have an unpleasant interaction with any of them. I'm very impressed."
