"Our family moved into Ypsilanti and we thought that the charter schools were a better option than the public middle school for our African American child. Simply, we were wrong in every possible way. Our black child was bullied from everything from his glasses to his skin color. This school is racist and the staff does nothing beside give kids warnings and 45 minute detentions. One instance was when my child's glasses were broke and he was called the derogatory term that was used in times of slavery. He was heart broken and thought that he was nothing just because of his skin color. The student received one detention for doing this to my son. Therefore unless you are a white privileged family (or Indian because being smart is the only way to succeed in this school that only cares about test grades) don't send your child to this school otherwise he will be harassed for nothing more than who he is. Sorry for having to explain this horrible series of incidents in such a horrible way but it is what happened."

"This school is horrible especially the spanish teacher. He is very bad and gave my child worksheets everyday. He also gave us computer time and then all kids did was go on omegle with explicit content. I will not be sending my future children here as they are starting grade school within the next couple years. All they cared about was testing grades and not on the students learning. In all, expectations were too high for such a low standard school. I highly recommend NOT sending your kids to this school as it will only hinder their success."

I really liked the atmosphere and harder curriculum that they offer and I felt that I learned a lot more here than at any other middle school."
