"Some nurses were kind and caring, but several others acted very lazy/hardly checked in/and seemed annoyed when asked for help. Never knew when doctors were coming in. My grandma got an ultrasound when she got to the hospital and did not get the results until about 5 or 6 days later. They did another test on her stomach, and we never even found out the results of that despite asking multiple times. When you press the nurse call button by the bed, it seems to take FOREVER for a nurse to come check in. I overheard the lady in the room across the hall say she pressed it at night and no one ever came. Not surprising, but also horrifying in event of an emergency. When my grandma went home on hospice, they forgot to order the ambulance. They brought her to my parents house SEVERAL hours later and with no notice/update. Luckily, they caught my dad before he pulled out of the driveway to leave. BIG shout out to Vlad the PT guy though. He was very sweet with my grandma and good at his job."
"This is the worst hospital on the planet. Terrible staff and they don't have the resources to provide proper care. This place should be shut down immediately. I came into the hospital with 2 problems. All they did was charge my insurance for as much as they could, because they are nothing more than meter runners. They gave me procedures and medication I didn't need, and solved neither of my issues. They gave me c-diff and released me without even knowing it. I had to go to a real hospital with doctors who know what they are doing to get diagnosed with c-diff and get the proper medication to treat it. NEVER go to this hospital. It's dangerous."
"I was admitted to the ER here while waiting transport to the VA since I was far from the VA. This was the worst hospital I’ve been to in my life. I was placed in a hospital bed and never got a room. I was there a day and a half, just sitting in the bed right in front of the admissions desk where all the nurses and doctors pass through. Anytime I needed something I was given attitude, whether it be water or to use the phone to call into work stating I was not going to be in, or asking for updates on my transfer. Anytime I asked to speak to my nurse the front desk lady would never let them know I wanted to speak with them. I always had to ask several times for anything. Also, there were two people in beds behind me. Each begging to use the bathroom and being ignored while several nurses stood by the admissions desk just talking. Everyone clearly heard them as they were maybe 5 feet away. The man stated he was going to pee himself if they didn’t get him to a bathroom. Some of them chuckled and said oh you’ve already peed on yourself (he arrived there with already urinating on himself) nobody took him to the restroom. The women in the next bed asked to go the bathroom and again nurses laughing. She said she was going to wet herself and they told her she had to wait (for no reason as the bathroom was 5 ft away) When I asked to shower I got an attitude. The nurse said “well ugh I dont think we can, there’s only one shower on this floor and we sometimes have a patient in there waiting for a room to open” I said it was inhumane having me sit there for a day and a half, no shower, no toiletries or way to brush my teeth, no room, can’t sleep because I’m front of the admissions desk, and they did not give me my meds until asking several times. Also a lot of times the nurses just stood around joking, laughing, talking about their personal lives in front of the desk while all of us patients are sitting right there. Very unprofessional and especially when you have patients begging for stuff you’re not doing anything. NEVER GO HERE!"
"Just had my second knee surgery with Dr. Frush in 3 months. I'm very happy with the results of the first surgery. Everyone I encountered was excellent! Even had some of the same staff as my first surgery. I had to travel 6 hours to get here, and it was worth it! Around home, I went to 7 orthopedists in 6 years. They all told me pretty much the same thing. Wait till I turn 60 and then get a knee replacement. I was 36 when they told me that. I've always been active, but it was becoming more and more difficult to where I couldn't mow the yard or walk the dog. If I had waited till I'm 60, I would not be walking or able to take care of myself. So glad I found the right surgeon. Food was decent, but don't get the corn."
"My elderly mother was at this hospital four times in the last two years of her life. The first time she had a heart valve replacement and the her treatment was excellent. The next time she had a fall and the treatment was adequate. Unfortunately, the last two times (this past spring), her experience was very disappointing. The nurses were, for the most part, kind and helpful. Communication with the doctors, however, was very inadequate. My mother ended up with a throat infection which was not treated, we had to insist on getting tests run for obvious problems, her problems were never addressed and no one ever returned phone calls. My mother consequently died in a rehab center, a week after being discharged the last time. I spent months and at least ten calls before the billing office would properly bill her secondary insurance, and the hospital lost her hearing aids. After my mother’s death, my elderly father had a bit of a breakdown and was admitted through the ER. Do not go here for psychiatric help! Communication was horrible, his issues weren’t addressed, and they put him on a powerful drug that his primary care doctor has since discontinued as it was inappropriate. He returned to the hospital this summer for problems with his legs, and I had to insist on a neurology consult. All they had done was routine bloodwork and had not addressed the issue at all. Oh, and they lost one of his hearing sides as well! This time I talked to the patient services department and they were supposed to reimburse him (we filled in all of the paperwork), but the money never came and no one has returned my multiple calls over the last three months. And once again, the billing office can’t seem to bill his secondary insurance. Ascension, we have tried to be loyal and flexible, but you have let our family down in so many ways. We will never seek your help again."
