"They have plenty of options to choose from. I got a boil bag and was able to try some seafood I've never had before. Our food was delicious, hot, and flavorful. If you like spicy, the fire hook and reel special sauce was very good. Will come back again."
"My brother and I wanted to try hook and reels seafood boil and it was absolutely delicious! good food and our server Kayla S was amazing! Very kind and patient with answering any questions we had and was very attentive to our table. I would highly recommend coming here and I will definitely be back!"
"A common refrain: I was nearby and hungry. A gentleman greeted me before the door closed behind me. Feels like a chain restaurant, a la Outback. That same kind of vibe: the decor, the music (a bit too loud), the lighting. Very polished. The server was really pushing the boil bag to everyone. I knew what I wanted from perusing the menu prior, a catfish po' boy. Fries or clam chowder side? Chowder every time. After putting in the order, the server returned with my drink and just hung out and started talking like that distant aunt you don't remember at a family reunion. Asking all sorts of questions like, Did I live nearby? Did I work around here? Not your typical server/customer interaction, by far. I'm a verbose guy & regularly ask weird questions but just for joking around. This went well beyond that. Once she found out I was an Uber driver (why did I say anything?) she was quick to tell me not to go into Detroit and "all those drug houses". Really? I pointed out that drugs are more common in the suburbs but I'm not sure it registered. Even when I picked up my phone & broke eye contact she kept going for a few minutes. Meanwhile, the food was tremendous! The chowder was nicely seasoned and not just a fancy potato soup as many others are. The catfish had a good amount of heat to it and overflowed the soft bun. It was messy and delicious. I highly recommend it. With tax the bill was $14 & change. And well worth it. I really hope I get a different server next time, though."
"We always order the large catch with 2 snowcrab legs and corn, potatoes, and add the sausage. It's so delicious and the crab is always cooked perfectly! Shells snap well, crab comes out super easy and is filled with flavor from the boil. We have been eating here a lot lately. Seems like they have some iffy reviews, but if your door dashing seafood, it's never going to be fresh like dining in. Also, I never see ads for this place. They would be popping if Ads were running . It would rake in business. They have killer Happy hour prices on drinks, too. You have got to try this place. The best flavors are their special Cajun seasoning. I like both mild and spicy, and my husband loves the fire. Garlic is also amazing."
"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hook and Real Cajun Seafood, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. From the moment I stepped foot into the restaurant, I knew I was in for a treat. The warm and inviting ambiance, coupled with the tantalizing aroma of Cajun spices, created an atmosphere that immediately sparked my appetite. The menu at Hook and Real Cajun Seafood is a seafood lover's dream come true. It offers a wide variety of dishes showcasing the freshest and most flavorful seafood ingredients. One standout dish that I simply cannot recommend enough is the Cajun Boil. It's a feast for the senses, with a vibrant medley of perfectly seasoned seafood, corn, and potatoes boiled to perfection. The flavors are bold, robust, and truly authentic. Each bite is an explosion of Cajun spices, leaving your taste buds dancing with joy."
