Chicken Shack Woodward

"This was my first time at the original chicken shack on Woodward. I thought that the food would be really delicious and it was not. The potatoes were hard they gave me the bottom of the barrel. The chicken was not cooked well, kind of dry and some overcooked this will be my first and last time having the food from this original chicken shack sorry very poor"

"Chicken tasted very good. Served hot and nice and crispy. Ordering a 16 PC bucket, chicken only, no sides was difficult. Woman taking food orders seemed to not understand chicken only, no sides. Took several minutes to place the order. When the final price was announced, it was acceptable. When I looked at my receipt, a 15% tip was added to the whole amount, after tax, without my knowledge or consent even with 3 tip buckets on the counter, each filled with tips. I don't like including the tip on my cc. I prefer to pay it separately in cash. I usually tip 25+%. Not only have they lost the opportunity for a better tip, they have lost a customer."

"The workers at this Royal Oak location on Woodward are clean, fast and have good attitudes. The food is usually hot and fresh, excluding my most recent visit where it seemed the pork chops I ordered were cold on the inside. I'm going to write that as a one off considering that's the only time I've had a problem throughout the past 10 years I've been going there."
