Dorothy Gerber Strings Program

The Dorothy Gerber Strings Program, located at 4233 Main Street in Petoskey, Michigan, offers a comprehensive music education for students ranging from four years old to seniors in high school. The program includes in-school strings classes, individual lessons, and a youth orchestra program. Students can learn violin, viola, cello, and bass through classroom settings, private lessons, ensembles, and a youth symphony.

During the summer, the DGSP offers day camps for all ages and levels of study to continue the fun and connection with music. The program follows the unique Suzuki method of learning music, providing a different approach from traditional methods. Families are encouraged to rent instruments rather than buy, especially for students who are not yet ready for a full-sized instrument.

The program aims to make the class experience stress-free and successful for all students, with opportunities to build and hone skills through personal practice time.
