"I’ve been coming to The Highlands (formerly Boyne) since I was a kid. My 4 year old daughter, who has never been on skis, took 3 days of ski school. The first 2 days we had Catalina who was AMAZING. She was so kind and my daughter LOVED her. The 3rd and last day she was with Sabrina who was equally amazing! Thank you to the both of them who made my daughter love skiing as much as we do!"
"Came for a morning ski lesson and Eric was the ABSOLUTE BEST INSTRUCTOR EVER!!! Very encouraging, very patient, really help you learn and encourages questions and the unknown. He’s a rock star at this and you can absolutely tell he loves helping people. Highly recommend this ski resort for your lessons. We were about to register online and get fitted for our skies and boots. They do have a locker system. I encourage you to bring your own gloves, googles, and a beanie with no ball at the top. Everything else is provided to you. They have a great system!"
"Disappointed in issue created by Boyne: I booked a "Stay and Ski" with Up to 20% off lift tickets. However, Boyne reservation system would not accept discount code provided to me in via a unique email. I proceeded to purchased tickets and was charged full price but reached out via email explaining the situation with my expectation the resort to return the difference upon arrival. I picked up lift tickets (Friday night) for the following day skiing. That evening (Friday) the resorted returned the full amount in the form of a voucher. I proceeded to lifts, unaware of the return in full amount and was unable to enter lift which resulted in my family holding up the lift lines. I then returned to the service desk (Main log) who then sent me to Lift Services where I proceeded to wait in lines (i.e. not skiing) Lift service issued me new list tickets at discount BUT would not return the difference in form of cash. Rather a 20% discount in the form of another voucher to be used at a later time. This new voucher of the 20% discount has a one-year expiration on it and is limited on how it can be used. What's disappointing to me is that issue was created by the resort and now my funds are tied to a voucher and my family lost time on the sloops. NO lifts will be purchased until that day of use moving forward, so that I am not to negatively affected and I'm not locked in! I did receive a call from Boyne representative within 24 hours but they were of no help and informed me two groups operate separately. My recommendation is that Boyne two departments (tickets / rooms) work more closely together and that their IT review system to negate these types of issue moving forward. Note: Ski conditions and lift Ops were all great!"
"Wonderful resort (for the Midwest). Lots of trails to choose from, relatively easy compared to what you’d get out west but it seems like a great place to learn. The staff have all been amazing - very very friendly and welcoming of families with children. We were given tickets for free hot chocolate multiple times for our kids, plus they have free activities almost every night for kids that typically included a snack and/or little toys. Great place for families or anyone looking for a quick ski trip close to this area. *I think the rooms at the resort could be upgraded a little but they’re not bad."
"My instructor Daniel was a big help with learning how to control my skis on my 1st time, had a great time!"
