"Things has changed drastically since changing into Charter. In the beginning I thought I loved this school. No! My son attended this school from K-3. And will NOT be returning! Every year in the middle of the school year my son’s teacher changed, they cannot keep staff. Fortunately my son’s teachers were very pleasant. They lack necessary materials like losing books to complete work due to extreme lack of organization IN THE SCHOOL FOR ALMOST HALF THE YEAR nor having copy paper in order for students to have assignments and homework. During the pandemic I received 3 notebooks that did not work and it was very difficult to exchange, obviously making it difficult for schooling. Administration at the school is very unprofessional except for the Principal, Mrs. Griffin. After repeatedly being given A latchkey start date (which didn't start until closer to the end of the school year) I was “advised” by administration that “children are no longer their responsibility after 3:30 because school lets out at 3 and there is other work that needs to be done, when kids leave their job isn't finished” After finding my 8 year old child outside on the opposite side of the school NOWHERE near adult supervision and there are NO cameras outside in the colder months. Security refused children even in corridors. Even after multiple lockdowns due to the safety of the children. I had to purchase my son A phone after A lockdown happened, they refused my son from contacting me while after the fear of his safety and very uncomfortable. And parents were not aware until that EVENING!!! They also do not monitor who they release their children too. They also makes it very difficult for you to speak with administration and never do they call back. In my opinion safety is NOT priority!! If you don’t play about your baby, this school isn’t for you. This school would make you want to choose violence!"

"As a graduate of this school it's most certainly not the worst, but I would warn you about some of the things such as rats and two danger threats ( knife and gun). And though those two things are horrible and hard to go through we had a amazing Principal (Mrs. Griffin) and staff ( mr. Lambert 5th ) ( mr. Childs 5th ) who made sure all was well this year. Lastly if you were wondering about the education, I’ve seen many of my own classmates improve greatly and feel the lessons are very good."

"I've been here since 2nd grade and that's when it use to be the best school in Detroit but this is still has hope just needs to get some improvements and will be the number 1 school in the D."

"I love this school! My daughter entered kindergarten this year and o was so worried about putting her in the right environment for her first official school but I am not disappointed! The staff of wonderful, all the kids are so kind and friwndsly and they have so much engagement to keep the kids on the right track! I am one happy momma!"
