"The fair isn't what it use to be. This year there were less rides for the kiddos. That seems to be the case over the last few years. At least they had a couple more last year. But for the price you pay to ride, they need more. There are also not as many food vendors there anymore. At least they have made a few improvements on the animal barns. As with all the fairs, prices to play games are riddiculous, especially for what you get. All that said, we got an armband for my granddaughter and she rode the rides she was allowed to once and a second time on 2 of them. She had fun and I guess that's what it's all for. Went to the Pork Festival. It's smaller than it used to be,less craft vendors. One of the main reasons they are loosing crafters is that they keep raising the prices of the booths. It's hard to cover the cost if you're just a small crafter who would like to set up. They are bringing in more commercial vendors to fill in space. It use to be all handmade crafts. The food is high too,for what you get. It's still nice to get out for the day or both days....you may find something you just had to have."
"Went to the Eaton Pork Festival held at the Preble County Fairgrounds. Great event! Changes made to the event even made it better than past years. Fairgrounds and buildings were extremely clean and well cared for."
"We had a good time, it's a family affair every year. I think it was better then last year with the vendors. But we would think they would do better with the food lines! We didn't eat this year. We were NOT going to stand in line for an hour. They got to do better."
"We had so much fun at the pork festival. The vendors were all very helpful. The pig races were fun as always. Never miss them."
"Had fun at the demolition derby. No reserved seating this year which was a change for the worse. People showed up hours in advance and blocked off seats with blankets duck taped to the grandstand bleachers and even used rope to mark off sections. At least with reserved seating, you know which seat is yours and don't have to fight a family of derby fanatics for it. Overall, fair week was pretty good. It was nice to see the 4H kids and their animals and projects. Very strange to have the parade on the final day of fair, although it did seem to draw a few more visitors there earlier in the day."
