"The RBS team was extremely pleasant to work with! Super helpful and answered every question we had. They gave us multiple possible solutions to our potential issue and offered their advice on which one they thought would be best for our situation. On a personal note, their personnel are extremely friendly and easy to talk to. Will definitely be reaching out to them with any future home problems I may encounter."
"Rob (the owner) and his brother Ryan are awesome! They are very knowledgeable. Rob is very professional and responsive. They came out to the house and provided a free quote for the work. The quote provided was very fair. On the day of the service Rob showed up a little earlier than expected which was great. He ran the water line for my basement vanity and toilet in just a few hours. The quality of work was great and I'd definitely call them again for future work if needed. As a DIY'er, I appreciate Rob taking time out to explain some plumbing basics as he worked. Thank you for your help and service!"
"RBS was hired to remove and install a new sump pump system in a home on November 28. Rob had said that he was a master plumber and had been doing it for years. He said that he could have the project done in about an hour since it was a total rip out and replace. On the day of the job, he showed up 45 minutes late. He and his assistant looked to be about done, and I had somewhere to be so I paid him the agreed upon sum of $1100, with a tip for his willingness to take the job short notice and said I'd be back in an hour to check out the finished product. I returned and got a call that the job had not been completed, there was an issue with the primary pump and he needed to come back the next day to finish it up. The next day he spent 2 hours with it and still couldn't get it to work correctly and would need to come back on day 3. On day 3, he was not there, but some of his employees were there and they resolved that the pump itself was broken and would need replaced. Rob admitted that it had sucked up some gravel and that it was his fault it wasn't working. They would need to come back on day 4 to replace the primary pump. On day 4, again, Rob was not present and his crew attempted to replace the primary pump with an inferior pump that wasn't a like for like replacement. His employees stated the job was done and we went down to look at the finished product. On the surface the job looked complete, but it was very sloppy. After his crew left, piping disconnected and sprayed water in the basement. His employees again returned and worked until they said the job was done. I took their word for it and a few minutes later, again returned to the pump to check their work. Something was clearly not working correctly as water in the pit was not being removed correctly, the backup pump was working near constantly as well. I called Rob and sent multiple videos of the backup pump running regularly, and the primary pump not functioning. At no point did this "Master Plumber" actually come to the home to check the work of his employees. Instead I was told that 'his people said it was working when they left' and then he stopped responding to me. He blocked my number and refused my text messages. I was forced to call another contractor to completely redo the entire job at a cost of $3200. The plumber for Arlinghaus stated that the primary sump pump had come totally disconnected from the pipe and was non-functional. During installation they had broken the pipe that attached to the pump and tried to use a non-plumbing adhesive to glue the two parts together. The wiring for the backup battery had not been done correctly and that the battery probably would have failed under different conditions because of that. The contractor said the entire job looked like it had been completed by amateurs and that even a journeyman plumber would have done things differently. There was never any other follow up or contact from RBS and Rob. The job that supposedly would only take an hour of time went over 4 days, cost me over 12 hours of personal time to handle, saw the contractor block and refuse all futher communication and failed to even sign off or even inspect the work of his crew. He refused to believe a homeowner who was not satisfied with clearly defective work and offered no recompence for the failure of his company to install the product correctly. I would never recommend anyone to hire this company. Rob may talk a good game, but he oversells his product, doesn't stand behind his work, and will cut off communication with you if things become difficult for him. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable for a handyman contractor who says they specialize in plumbing."
"Rob the owner of RBS Mechanical is extremely efficient and knowledgeable. He responded to my request for a failing water heater within an hour and came to my house within two hours which is extremely impressive. The repair/replacement quote he provided was a fraction of the cost than two other local companies provided. Him and his team replaced the water heater unit next day. I 100% would recommend RBS Mechanical to anyone with plumbing needs."
"Rob was able to come out and provide a free estimate on a plumbing repair within a day of us reaching out. He and his coworker we able to come out a week later and complete the repair for less than some plumbing companies were charging for just a quote. I’ll be using RBS in the future if any other issues come up."
