"Nice setting and very nice management and maintenance. Apartment can feel cramped and frustrating sometimes, especially in the small kitchen that makes cooking hard. Very expensive to heat and cool. Neighbors can be very difficult depending on where you are and almost no one picks up their dog poop, so you're constantly having to watch where you walk. Traffic is loud and constant if you're near the highway. Overall a good starting place, however,and relatively inexpensive to rent."

"Amazing place. I have always felt safe here being a single female. The management are very nice and personal. Small and cozy. The area where the apartments are located is so nice! Its like living in the woods im the middle of town."

"Overall: This is a very inexpensive place to live if you are struggling to get by, but if you can afford more, you should probably look for another place. Positives: Even though they were quad units, it was quiet and for the most part warm in the winter and cold in the summer. Utilities were very reasonable. Negatives: I'm going to give a few examples, because this would end up as a novel if I didn't keep it short. The unit we had did not have a dishwasher, and we needed to cover the windows with plastic during summer and winter to keep in heat/cold. We were not happy living here (understatement). Our kids had multiple asthma attacks, and there were obvious signs of mold in our unit. We contacted the management multiple times, and in one instance a manager walked in and said, "Huh! I don't smell anything. Must be because I lost my sense of smell." It was crazy. We had to replace the shower curtain almost weekly because it would turn black. Oddest of all, there was a stain on the carpet when we moved in, and we made sure to note it so we were not charged. Our kids spilled something near the stain, and when I used a regular carpet spray, the stain came up. They told us they had the carpets cleaned before we moved in... I don't believe they ever were cleaned, but the contract calls for you to pay for cleaning when you move out. We ended up leaving on good terms, but we do not recommend this to friends unless you are really, really hard up for funds (we were at the time that we lived there). That being said, most of the neighbors were great - we did have to contact management to complain when we first moved in because they did not disclose that a predator lived on site. However, he moved out. This was several years ago, so I hope things have improved since."

"I am impressed. I have been at spruce hill since june 2016. If you are looking to have a starting apartment, i would have to say its what you pay for. Although location is a plus, the downside is they have a rather small kitchen space and, being "young n loud" you cannot have your music as loud as you want considering the fact that you could annoy a neighbor or 5. Haha!"
