"Unless you want your apartment to smell like cigarette smoke 24/7, would recommend living else where"
"Worse place to live. Not recommended it at all. There's better places to live. And the owner put the rent up every year. They don't want to fix a lot of things in the apartments. I'm calling the city. There's a lot of damage in the Hampton House. The owner care about the money. He doesn't care about the people that lives in the apartments. These people are real fakes. And if you are a roommate. They never consider you to rent an apartment in the same building. My friend lives there and the heat is off. The apartment is freezing. I just visited him and he start talking about the heater they don't turn on in the cold weather."
"Responsive management and maintenance staff. Whenever I have a concern or issue, it's always taken care of promptly. It's much appreciated. On another note, I'd love to see the garage interior get washed down, stripe the parking spaces and paint the walls; it's needed."
"I would like to commend Carla from the Admin office of Hampton House 10017 Lake Avenue. Everytime we have issue that we can go through like the online request she's always there to help us without further hesitation and she would act immediately. Also to Erica Newby. We tried to coordinate the office since May I arrived here but then previous people I've talked to even the former Admin Manager/Supervisor doesn't know what she's doing. Thank you to Carla for a great job and to Erica Newby. However as time went by Carla resigned and replaced with people who doesn’t have care. We lost several packages and reported to the new Manager however she said it’s not their jurisdiction anymore where in facf the mailboxes is just infront of their office. Not even offering a solution to have a camera plan to install maybe. They gave us also notice of renewal very late which before they already hand over every door 3 months before the end of your contract so you can decide wether to pus or not the stay. No quiet hours even elevators sometimes not working. You have to climb to 5th with your plastics of grocery items. The new Manager was not really concern about tenants. Terrible management."
"I moved in here last October and decided to stay for another year based on the location and price. It's my favorite apartment building that I have lived in so far because of how close it is to Edgewater, the Shoreway/Downtown, and Lakewood. It's also relatively easy to get to I-90. As for the price, a large one bedroom is pretty average among most places, and the apartment I live is pretty updated. I love the fact that heat is included, but that seems to be most places in NE Ohio. I also love the amount of windows (10!) in my apartment, which is in the back corner. The maintenance staff (basically, Dave) is outstanding. He is extremely responsive and friendly and makes do with old the constant challenges that an old building poses. I recently had an issue with my shower which required him to make a hole in my kitchen wall to flush the pipe. He went an extra step to cover the hole and paint over it because Thanksgiving was the next day (and I was hosting). And he has already scheduled a time to come and patch the hole permanently. During my first year, I had a few issues with the administrative office. The property manager at that time would give me information that conflicted with my lease and even tried to get me to pay a transfer fee when I wanted to re-sign my lease. Thankfully, the corporate office was extremely responsive during that time and provided me with the correct information. The previous staff was also not very responsive to emails and requests. Those issues, however, were before AZ Management completely overhauled of the staff. The new staff seems to be doing a much better job. They are responding to requests in a much more timely fashion. On an individual note, Carla has been great! She's tried really hard to handle all of the issues that have come up as fast as she possibly can. Mitzy (sorry if incorrect spelling) has also been great since she's come on and helped get my new lease completed in a relatively quick time period. While small in the large grand scheme of things, I do have a pet peeve-- the building used to put out dog #2 bags every day in the dog posts. For the past 2-3 months they have stopped doing it all together, causing a lot of people (who I am assuming expected bags to be available) to just leave their pets' droppings all over the grass area. It's gross. Overall, though, I am very happy living here."
