"I lived here for a year and my car was broken into two times. I do not think Uptown Rentals considers The Oaks as a valuable property, and therefore are not willing to do anything to help (such as upgrade the security, fix the lights, or install cameras). I even sent them an email supported by more than half the residents that were currently living in the building to take basic measures to help prevent these issues, and it didn't make a difference. Additionally, there are typically safety hazards and leaks in the building that take several maintenance requests to be addressed. You also pay a ridiculous parking fee to park in an unmanaged lot (random people park there with no parking pass all the time) and it's the responsibility of the residents (not Uptown rentals) to get them towed. I ended up moving to a Gaslight property that actually had similar issues (car break-ins) in the past, but installed good lights, security cameras, and a key fob systems in response to the car crimes, and it seemed to significantly improve things."
"Had to stay there for a year. We were tricked into signing lease by Uptown rentals for this apartment as we had to complete the whole process online. Ceiling / roof came off twice during our stay and management didn't care to fix the mess until 2 business days. Bugs and roaches everywhere. No idea when this was built and for our apartment the heating furnace was gas based. Expect your power bill to be over 200$ during winter (yes for a 1bhk apartment! ). They go above and beyond for collecting parking fee and it doesn't have the basic facility of flood lights. During my stay there for a year cars were vandalized on three different occasions. All of the tenants have drafted a mail for the uptown management and the response was adding cc cameras or floodlights doesn't make any difference as most of the burglars come with their faces covered."
