"I've been living here 2 years and I like it. Maintenance has responded quickly whenever needed, and the office staff is friendly. The area is quiet and removed but still close to the major shopping areas and bus stops."

"If I could give zero stars I would. This place is a joke. They raised the rent on the apartments because they put these “amazing new floors” in the units, but here’s the thing … it is the cheapest flooring and it is not installed correctly. If you want to live in a place where it sounds like your neighbors are going to come through your ceiling or you’ll be woken up all through the night if your neighbors are up moving around, this is the place for you! If you have kids, no worries they will no longer sleep through the night. Neighbors throw trash all over the place and smoke cigarettes In the hallways. Black mold is in window seals."

"It wasn't bad for the first year I lived there. Then the heat in the apartment went out for three days in the winter storm and they offered heaters that I had to go get instead of sending a crew out to fix it. When moving out they charged me for carpet replacement after the maintainance man told me they were turning all of them to hardwood floors when someone moved out. Like I said wasn't bad at first but definitely isn't worth the price they're asking or an extra 100 for month to month. They don't let you make partial payments when on your final bill either so just be prepared to lose all of your deposit and owe more onto of it they will find a way to get as much money as they can. You try to fight it they just call you a liar. Good luck!"

"This is the only review I have ever done but I feel obligated to make this to share my own experience with Barkley Ridge. Overall, I have been content with my time here at Barkley Ridge. I have had cheaper than usual rent when compared to the surrounding area and the location of the apartment is very convenient being so close to Cincinnati and Newport. I have never had an issue with management, in fact, from my experience they have been very helpful. I have called maintenance twice before and they were great as well. The apartment is laid out nice as well. Here is what makes this apartment complex three stars. I have had a constant battle with my clothes all smelling like cigarette smoke from previous tenants I’m assuming. The kitchen appliances and cabinets are old and cheap. My unit does not have any laundry hookups which is a slight inconvenience. My unit also does not have central air. It only had a single air conditioner which does a decent job so again this is a slight inconvenience. I have encountered an occasional roach or mouse, keep in mind this is a once in a while occurrence. I am a moderately clean person so I do not assume that it is my fault. The pool has been under maintenance for the entire year I have lived here. To wrap this up, what I have paid for rent-wise has been worth what I have experienced here at Barkley Ridge. Yes, the area is a tad bit sketchy and the apartment halls do smell weird but for what you pay, it’s not that bad for someone who isn’t picky. I would say the worst thing about Barkley ridge for me has been the cigarette smell. It is so bad in the apartments that my girlfriend and I have to have our wax melted on 24/7. Even the melter doesn’t keep our clothes in our closets from smelling bad. The rent recently went up which is causing me to look at other places to live but I’m not sure if it went up for everybody. I don’t know if your experience will be the same as mine, it might be better or worse, but hopefully this has shed light unto Barkley Ridge for anyone who may be looking at this place as a living situation."
