Reviews of Chalet Nivale Nature Preserve
"We always love visiting Chalet Nivale. Easy in and out trails that show our county's amazing biodiversity. The trails are always maintained beautifully but you are highly likely to have the trail to yourself. Especially early mornings and throughout the week. If you have 30 minutes. I can show you some incredibly beauty that will blow your mind."
"Oh, I was brought here by Josh, Naturalist from Rocky Fork State Park, on a wildflower expedition. Although I didn’t get to hike the trails apart, we did walk was gorgeous and had a huge variety of wildflowers and species of trees. I will definitely be coming back to hike the trails. "Chalet Nivale Nature Preserve is part of the Arc of Appalachia Nature Preserve system. Chalet Nivale is another beautiful preserve that has three hiking trails, each roughly a mile long. They follow the creeks from ground level to the ridge overlooking the ravine. Also there is a trail that loops around a meadow. There are many rock formations, a few stream crossings and plenty of scenic views. The trails range from easy to a few areas being difficult but mostly they are on the moderate level."
"No dogs allowed here. Not sure the prior review with a pic of their dog but no dogs at these trails. We enjoyed the crawdad trail. The first part was up on the hill through the woods and the second crossed the creek a few times. I wouldn’t recommend this trail if it has rained a lot. I loved the choice of 3 1 mile loops. Do one or do them all. Not a crowded place at all"
"Such a beautiful place. Consist of three trails that provide you with the serenity, beauty and the calming sounds of Mother Nature herself. A beautiful place to let the troubles of everyday life escape you. One of My Woosah Places."
